Atletico's Vicente Calderon stadium to host Copa del Rey final on May 22

The Copa del Rey final will be played at the Vicente Calderon in Madrid on May 22, the Spanish Football Federation has confirmed.

Barcelona take on Sevilla at Atletico Madrid's stadium, the RFEF board announced on Monday in Las Rozas, Madrid.

Barca preferred the larger venue of Real Madrid's Santiago Bernabeu, but the stadium was unavailable because of a Bruce Springsteen concert.

They had picked the date knowing Sevilla could be in action on May 18, should the two-time defending champions reach the Europa League final once again.

The Calderon can hold 55,000 people, but for security reasons the capacity for the final will likely be 52,000. Barcelona and Sevilla will meet next week with RFEF chiefs to clear up the details.
