Barcelona v Espanyol: Preview
Luis Enrique wants his Barcelona side to treat Wednesday's Copa del Rey last-16 first-leg tie with Espanyol as a one-off clash.
The Catalan clubs meet for a second time in 11 days, after drawing 0-0 in the Primera Division last Saturday.
``We shall play as if there was no second leg,'' Enrique said on www.fcbarcelona.com.
``My players are perfectly motivated for this clash.''
Arda Turan and Aleix Vidal were named in the squad, available after the FIFA-imposed transfer sanction expired, bolstering a squad rich in talent.
Enrique was satisfied with the performance in the league contest, but expects an improved showing.
``We played a great game at their ground,'' he added.
``We created six or seven very clear goalscoring chances that could have won us the match.
``But that doesn't mean that there weren't a lot of things that we need to improve, and in fact we have been able to do just that.''
Turan and Vidal will have an immediate opportunity to impress after signing in the summer.
``Both of them will get the chance to wear the Barca shirt and play a part in the match,'' Enrique added.
``We have GPS data from their training sessions that shows that they are perfectly capable of playing the full 90 minutes.
``Arda can play in the middle or out wide, and I dare say Aleix Vidal could play in any of three positions, either at full-back, centre-back or even out on the wing.
``He can play in any of these positions depending on what we need to get from certain matches. Both players have outstanding skill.''
Espanyol boss Constantin Galca is wary of Barca.
The Romanian said: ``It will be an even more difficult match against a Barcelona more involved in the game, wanting to score and win.
``We are facing the best team in the world and their players will have the pride to win this game.''
