Spain's Julen Lopetegui keeping coy on his lineup for England clash

Spain coach Julen Lopetegui is keeping his cards close to his chest as to which players will be in his starting XI for Tuesday's friendly against England at Wembley.

Lopetegui has, however, confirmed he will make changes to the side that beat Macedonia 4-0 in Saturday's World Cup qualifier in Granada.

He told Onda Cero: "Against England, I will make changes because we had one less day to rest than our opponents and we have to take that into account. But I will try to bring out the best team possible."

England return to Wembley four days after their 3-0 triumph over Scotland in a World Cup qualifier.

Lopetegui has been impressed with the Three Lions' performances since Gareth Southgate stepped in as interim boss following the dismissal of Sam Allardyce on Sept. 27 after 67 days in charge.

"Since England have changed their coach, they have improved a lot," Lopetegui said. "England have good players in every position. They will demand the best from us. I have not decided on the lineup, I will only announce it to my players on Tuesday morning."

Lopetegui says he will not be influenced by Saturday's derby in La Liga between Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid when selecting his team for Tuesday's game.

"I'm not thinking about the weekend games," he said. "We are just focusing on the national team and on the game against England. We just need to consider the fitness of the players."

Madrid striker Alvaro Morata, who came off after an hour in the game against Macedonia because of a problem with his right leg, will be available.

"Morata is well and available for selection," Lopetegui said. "He just had a minor knock and nothing else."

Spain are level on 10 points with Italy in Group G of World Cup qualifying but are ahead on goal difference.

They have yet to lose since Lopetegui replaced Vicente del Bosque at the helm in July and are eager to secure a good result at Wembley.

"We always want to win and especially in big arenas and against England," Lopetegui said. "Wembley has a lot of history and every player wants to play there."
