Fernando Torres not ruled out for Spain - Vicente Del Bosque

Spain coach Vicente Del Bosque has said that Atletico Madrid star Fernando Torres has not been ruled out of a national team recall for the European Championship and added that he would like to see a Champions League final between two Spanish clubs.

Torres appeared sure to move on as he went 19 games and five months stuck on 99 Atletico goals during the winter, but he has returned to form and scored in his fifth consecutive La Liga outing as Atleti beat Athletic Bilbao 1-0 on Wednesday.

The scorer of the winning goal for Spain in the Euro 2008 final, and contributor to their World Cup 2010 and Euro 2012 victories, the 32-year-old was also involved in their shocking group exit at World Cup 2014.

Torres last week said he had not heard anything from the national setup for two years now, and thought it unlikely his current form would lead to a recall from La Roja coach.

But Del Bosque insisted on Thursday that no one has been ruled out.

"All of them who have not personally said they aren't available to come are under consideration," Del Bosque told AS. "We have not marginalised anyone because we want to take the best players."

Del Bosque said that Spanish football is enjoying one of its best moments and that having Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid in the Champions League semifinals helps cement Spain's place in European play.

"I hope it works out that there is a Spanish final in the Champions League," he said. "We would like to see both teams maintain the dominance that Spanish clubs have had in European competitions."
