Sergio Busquets out of Spain squad with broken finger - reports

Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets has a broken finger and will not play for Spain during the international break, according to reports.

Spain take on Italy on Thursday and Romania on Sunday, but they will have to do so without Busquets, who missed training on Monday.

The Spain federation's website said: "Busquets did not participate in training and will have a recovery session in the gym," but did not mention the injury.

Mundo Deportivo reported Busquets arrived with a medical report detailing the injury to his right hand, and coach Vicente Del Bosque agreed he could return to Barcelona.

The midfielder injured the finger while playing against Eibar on March 6, Sport reported. He sat out Barcelona's next game against Getafe game but returned to face Arsenal in the Champions League last week and Villarreal on Sunday.

Del Bosque is unlikely to replace Busquets in the squad, the reports said.
