Sergio Ramos out for Spain vs. England due to shoulder injury

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has been ruled out of Spain's friendlies with England and Belgium.

Ramos, 29, injured his left shoulder when scoring an acrobatic effort for Real in their 3-2 loss to Sevilla at the weekend.

The centre-back dislocated the same shoulder in September and is wary of suffering another long-term setback with a similar problem.

"First I have to recover. I hope to have a scan on Tuesday, but it will be difficult to go with the national team if I couldn't continue today," he is quoted by AFP as telling Canal Plus.

"The priority is to recover because it is another relapse. I have played four or five games with injections and this is the type of injury that if you are not careful can cause a lot more problems."

The Spanish Football Federation confirmed Ramos will miss out, as will Atletico Madrid's Juanfran with a thigh injury.

Spain coach Vicente del Bosque has called up Athletic Bilbao's Oscar de Marcos and Real's Nacho Fernandez to replace the pair.
