SuperSport United have completed the singing of Bafana Bafana international fullback Siyabonga Nhlapo from Bidvest Wits, the club announced on Tuesday.
The Pretoria-based side also completed the capture of striker Prince Dube from Zimbabwe Premier League side Highlanders. Nhlapo has signed a three-year contract and has been touted as a replacement for New Zealand international right-back Michael Boxall, who has moved to Minnesota United in the USA.
The 28-year-old Nhlapo had spent part of last season on loan at Highlands Park.
"Siya is a player whom we have been watching for a few seasons now," SuperSport CEO Stan Matthews said in a statement.
"He has represented Bafana Bafana, having been called up by each of the last three national team coaches.
"We have watched how well he did at Bidvest Wits, playing a major role in their third and second-placed finishes in the 2014/15 and 2015/16 seasons, and with Grant Kekana doing so well in our last few games last season we look forward to the contest for the right-back spot."
Dube is seen one for the future, but comes with form having netted eight goals in 12 matches for Highlanders this season.
"Prince is a longer term play for us. He has good technique, pace and skill and can play both centrally and wide," Matthews said.
"He may not be displacing [Jeremy] Brockie or [Bradley] Grobler this season but he has the makings of a top attacking player and we look forward to seeing how Eric progresses with him moving forward."
