Tottenham full-back DeAndre Yedlin could return to Sunderland

Sunderland manager David Moyes has revealed he's interested in re-signing Tottenham Hotspur full-back DeAndre Yedlin.

Yedlin, 23, moved to Spurs from Seattle Sounders in 2014, but has made just one appearance for the club and spent last season out on loan at the Stadium of Light.

The United States international forced his way into the Sunderland first team, making his debut in September a week before the appointment of Sam Allardyce and featuring regularly, making 21 starts in his breakthrough Premier League campaign.

Yedlin returned to Spurs in the summer, while Allardyce has been appointed England manager. However, new Sunderland boss Moyes was impressed with what he saw from the young full-back and is weighing up a move to bring him back to Sunderland -- along with fellow loanee Yann M'Vila of Rubin Kazan.

"Both M'Vila and Yedlin made decent impacts," Moyes told the Sunderland Echo. "They are players who we have talked a lot about in the last week, and we have spoken to people about them. So I would say that they are players who are out there, but they are among a number of players who we are looking at.

"I want to see if there are better players than that available, or if there is better value. I'm having to find out about the market quickly, and seeing what is there. At the moment the market is difficult and getting a price and valuation on someone is not easy."

Yedlin played just 12 minutes at right-back for Spurs during their preseason tour of Australia, despite the absence of first-choice Kyle Walker from the touring party. Kieran Tripper and youth player Kyle Walker-Peters both played more minutes in the position during defeats to Juventus and Atletico Madrid in Melbourne.
