West Ham to sign Algeria winger Sofiane Feghouli on free from Valencia

West Ham United have announced the signing of Algeria international Sofiane Feghouli on a three-year contract.

Feghouli, 26, will join on a free transfer on July 1 following the expiry of his contract with the Spanish club.

A source told ESPN FC last week that West Ham were leading the race for the winger as he was eager to play in the Premier League despite receiving offers from across Europe and the rest of the world.

"I am very happy to sign for the Hammers and for Slaven Bilic," Feghouli told his new club's official website. "The history of the Club is important for me in my decision.

"Playing in the Premier League is very important for players in their careers and I am happy to play for the Hammers."

He added on his Twitter account: "Very happy to join @whufc for the next 3 seasons ! #Hammers #PremierLeague"

Feghouli, who began his career with Grenoble, had been with Valencia since 2010 and scored 42 goals in 243 appearances during his time at the Mestalla.
