TOP STORY: PSG holding out on Messi hopes
Paris Saint-Germain could begin next season with Lionel Messi lining up alongside Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, with reports claiming that the French club has made contact with the Barcelona star's representatives.
That's according to Le Parisien, which reports that the PSG hierarchy have outlined the signing of the Argentine star as a priority after crashing out of the Champions League semi-finals in a 4-1 aggregate defeat against Manchester City on Tuesday.
Le Parisien claims that the Ligue 1 club are prioritising a move for the Barcelona man as well as holding onto Neymar and Mbappe, with reinforcements in midfield and defence also to be considered at the end of the season.
The 33-year-old has shown no signs of slowing down with 36 goals and 11 assists for Barcelona in La Liga and the Champions League this season, and interest from France could reignite Messi's desire to leave the Camp Nou after previously being linked with a move away from the club last summer.

There may yet be a wild card as Le Parisien claims that PSG have entered the race for the midfielder. The 30-year-old has been an integral part of Liverpool's triumphs in the Champions League and Premier League in recent years.
21.01 BST: Antonio Rudiger has been revived since Thomas Tuchel took over at Chelsea but is his long-term future at Stamford Bridge?
The 28-year-old centre-back is set to enter the final year of his contract with the Blues but according to Sky's Kaveh Solhekol, Chelsea will hold talks with him this summer regarding an extension. Rudiger has been an ever-present, and commanding figure since Tuchel's arrival, helping the Blues keep 15 clean sheets in 20 appearances under his German countryman, and reach the finals of both the FA Cup and Champions League.
20.15 BST: Republic of Ireland defender Shane Duffy has been sent back to Brighton following a disastrous loan spell at Celtic, the Scottish Herald understands.
The 29-year-old made a few high-profile errors during his time at Parkhead and thus fell down the pecking order at the club. Duffy has been ruled unavailable through injury for Celtic's two remaining games, and thus has returned to his parent club a little early.
With Lewis Dunk, Adam Webster and Ben White at Brighton, Duffy is likely to be on the move again this summer.
19.36 BST: Man United have yet to open new contract talks with midfielder Paul Pogba, Sky Sports News' Dharmesh Sheth has learned.
The 28-year-old, whose contract expires next summer, has made 37 appearances this season, scoring six goals, adding seven assists and helping United to the Europa League semifinals and a likely second-place Premier League finish.
18.49 BST: Sky Sports has learned that there are four clubs after Jadon Sancho, including Manchester United.
The other three clubs were not revealed, but Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has said Sancho will be allowed to leave under a "gentleman's agreement" and provided "certain conditions are met". Last year Man United failed to reach BVB's £108 million evaluation for the England winger, although Sky has learned that he could be available for £80m this summer.
Sky has also learned that Dortmund are asking for £150 million for star striker Erling Haaland.
17.57 BST: Man City are growing ever confident of landing Brighton's Yves Bissouma, the Daily Star reports.
The 24-year-old, who is valued at £30 million, is viewed as a long-term replacement for soon-to-be out-of-contract Fernandinho, who turned 36 earlier this week. Arsenal, Everton, West Ham and Tottenham have also been linked with the Mali international, who was bought by Brighton from Lille from £15m in 2018.
Man City had previously been linked with West Ham's Declan Rice, but do not want to pay the reported £90m for the England man.
17.01 BST: Aston Villa target Florian Thauvin is closing in on a surprise move to Liga MX side Tigres, according to multiple reports.
The 28-year-old winger is reportedly set to join ex-Marseille man Pierre-Andre Gignac in Mexico, with Tigres expected to offer him a contract through 2026. Thauvin has racked up eight goals and 10 assists this season for Marseille but is set to become a free agent at the end of the season.
16.22 BST: Paris Saint-Germain could try to re-sign Serge Aurier from Tottenham Hotspur this summer, according to Le Parisien.
Aurier signed for Spurs from PSG in 2017, and has maintained his position as the club's first-choice right-back despite the arrival of Matt Doherty from Wolves last summer.
The manager who signed him, Mauricio Pochettino, is now in charge of PSG, and could look to bring Aurier back to the French capital as but of an overhaul at the Parc des Princes.
15.29 BST: Juan Mata's representatives have made contact with Lazio over a move to the Italian club this summer, Il Tempo reports.
Mata, 33, is out of contract at Manchester United this summer, and so far there is no offer on the table to continue at Old Trafford.
The former Spain international has previously turned down a move to Lazio, but his position has changed now that he is set to be a free agent this summer.
Il Tempo reports that Mata's father and agent wants a contract for two years, with the option of a third, worth €4.5m a season.

14.14 BST: The image of Eden Hazard joking with Chelsea players after Real Madrid's Champions League elimination at Stamford Bridge has generated a "monumental" anger at the club, sources have told ESPN's Rodrigo Faez and Adriana Garcia.
So perhaps it is no coincidence that Marca is reporting today that Hazard, along with Marcelo and Isco, are not viewed as being part of the club's future.
Hazard is in his second season at the Bernabeu since making his €100m move from Chelsea, but the Belgium international has started just 21 games in LA Liga as he has been constantly dogged by injuries and poor form.
After Wednesday's Champions League exit, Madrid are reportedly ready to cut their losses on Hazard.

13.29 BST: Tottenham Hotspur are expected to save approximately £9m ($12.5m) in compensation payments to Jose Mourinho after he accepted the head coach job at Roma, sources have told ESPN's James Olley.
The 58-year-old initially agreed a severance package worth around £20m ($27.8m) following his sacking by Spurs last month. That figure comprised Mourinho receiving his circa £15m ($20.8m)-a-year salary in full until his Tottenham contract was due to expire in the summer of 2022.

12.35 BST: Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has personally warned Barcelona to forget about Neymar's return to the Camp Nou, according to Catalunya Radio.
With PSG having bowed out of the Champions League at the hands of Manchester City in the semifinal stages and the team second in the Ligue 1 standings, one point behind league leaders Lille with two games remaining, nerves are starting to show on PSG executives.
Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, whose contracts expire in the summer of 2022, have yet to sign a new deal to remain at the club. Both players are reportedly considering their options even though Neymar has verbally agreed to extend his contract until June 2026, he has yet to sign the document.
The Brazil star left Barca in the summer of 2017 for a world-record €222m transfer and has always been linked with a return to the Catalan club.
11.47 BST: Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott is confident that his loan spell at Blackburn Rovers this season has equipped him to break into the first team at Anfield next term.
Elliott, 18, signed for Liverpool in 2019, soon after becoming the Premier League's youngest debutant at the age of 16 years and 30 days old while at Fulham.
The England youth international has scored six goals in 40 appearances in the Championship for Blackburn this season, and he believes he can be a Premier League regular in 2021-22.
"Next season I am going to go back thinking that I can get in the team," Elliott told the Counter Attack podcast. "I have had this experience and feel ready. I have 50 appearances under my belt, which is a lot for a teenager.
"I feel 100% confident I can go in and challenge. I'm looking forward to the fight and to show people I am a different player, and ready to play when called upon.
"It won't be given to me. I will need to work hard and train well and if I get my chance in a game, I have to take it."

10.42 BST: Manchester City are considering a move for Declan Rice if veteran midfielder Fernandinho leaves the club this summer, according to The Times.
Fernandinho turned 36 on Tuesday, the same day he helped City secure their place in their first ever Champions League final by beating Paris Saint-Germain.
The Brazilian is out of contract this summer and, while City are willing to offer him a new one-year deal, the former Shakhtar Donetsk player is waiting until the end of the season to decide his future.
Should he leave, then West Ham and England midfielder Rice could be in the frame to replace him. The 22-year-old, who is also a long-term target for Chelsea and Manchester United, has three years left on his contract with the Hammers.
09.49 BST: Barcelona are in the market for a midfielder that can take over the role of Sergio Busquets, Mundo Deportivo reports.
The Catalan club is working on finding a player of similar characteristics to Busquets to give the Spain international time to rest. Busquets, 32, has played 46 games for Barca in all competitions and has no ideal substitute currently in the squad.
Barca can't afford to make a big splash in the market but have three players that could potentially fill that spot. They are Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, Sassuolo's Manuel Locatelli and Real Sociedad's Mikel Merino.
Camavinga, 18, has already made his debut for France and is also on the radar of Real Madrid. Merino, 24, is a player Barca knows well from La Liga but is contracted to Real Sociedad until June 2025 and has a €60m release clause. Barca have monitored Locatelli for the past two years. His contract with Sassuolo runs until June 2023. Barca have a good rapport with Sassuolo but the Catalan club will face competition from Premier League clubs to sign the 23-year-old.
09.00 BST: As the fallout from the failed European Super League breakaway continues, here is a development that could affect some clubs' transfer plans: UEFA is ready to pursue severe disciplinary action against clubs that signed up to the ESL and have yet to sufficiently distance themselves from the project, multiple sources familiar with the situation have told ESPN's Gabriele Marcotti and Moises Llorens.
This could result in the maximum punishment under the organisation's disciplinary pathway, which is a two-year ban from the Champions League or Europa League.
UEFA have spent the past 10 days in conversation with the 12 clubs in an effort to agree a lesser sanction and extract a formal definitive commitment not to pursue the Super League effort. As of Wednesday, according to sources familiar with the situation, they had reached an understanding with seven clubs: Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur. Inter Milan were close to an agreement as well, according to sources, though none has yet been reached.
The remaining four clubs -- Juventus, Real Madrid, Barcelona and AC Milan -- have so far stuck to their positions and could face the UEFA disciplinary process for, among other things, violating Article 51 of the statutes, which states that "No combinations or alliances between... clubs affiliated, directly or indirectly, to different UEFA Member Associations may be formed without the permission of UEFA."

- Liverpool could be set to make a move for AS Roma's Lorenzo Pellegrini in the summer with new manager Jose Mourinho planning to overhaul the Serie A club's midfield. The Mirror reports that the player's contract situation may leave the club no option but to move the midfielder on. The 24-year-old has scored nine and assisted eight goals this season for Roma, playing both as part of a midfield three as well as in a No. 10 role.
- Juan Mata could be set to revive his career in Serie A with Lazio reportedly interested in acquiring the services of the Spanish attacking midfielder, says Il Tempo. The outlet clamis that the Italian club are confident the 33-year-old still has a lot to offer despite only starting in four games this season for Manchester United in the Premier League.
- A move to Barcelona in the summer would be a dream for Sergio Aguero, according to Fabrizio Romano on the Here We Go podcast. The Manchester City striker is set to be out of contract at the end of the season and it is understood that a move to Barca is the preference for the forward who will turn 33 next month.
- West Ham United are set to rival a host of clubs for the signature of Brentford's Ivan Toney, according to The Sun, which reports that a fee in the region £35 million will be required to secure the services of the in-form 25-year-old striker. The forward helped confirm the Bees' place in the Championship playoffs this season, scoring 30 goals and assisting 10 in 44 league appearances. The Hammers are the latest club to be linked with the Brentford man after it was reported earlier that Tottenham Hotspur also had interest.
- Manchester United's Diogo Dalot could be set for a permanent move away from Old Trafford with reports that AC Milan are prepared to make the defender's loan move permanent. The Sun suggests that a fee in the region of £15m would be accepted by the Manchester United hierarchy. The 22-year-old has featured 27 times for the Italian club this season and has played on both sides of the defence.
