TOP STORY: Man United draw up shortlist to replace Pogba
It has already been reported that Manchester United will consider allowing Paul Pogba to leave the club if he refuses to sign a new contract, but the club are reportedly drawing up a shortlist of replacements in case he departs.
The Mirror believes that United are to sit down with Pogba and agent Mino Raiola this month in an effort to agree to an extension. However, should Pogba turn down what is reported to be an offer of £400,000-a-week, United will act fast to replace him, rather than let him move for free next summer.
And on that list of replacements are Declan Rice, Wilfred Ndidi and Saul Niguez.
Rice, 22, has been a key man for West Ham United in their rise up the Premier League table this season, but the Hammers could ask for as much as £100 million for their talismanic midfielder.
Ndidi has been superb at the base of Leicester City's midfield this season and is considered a far more affordable option. The 24-year-old Nigeria international has helped the Foxes break the top four and reach an FA Cup final.
Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid star Niguez, 26, has been at the club since 2013 and is the most attacking midfielder of the trio on United's shortlist, but he can play in a variety of positions.
United's preferred option of all of the above, however, is for Pogba to sign on the dotted line.

21.21 BST: The Athletic writes that Toronto FC have acquired 28-year-old left-back and Jamaica international Kemar Lawrence from Belgian giants Anderlecht for a transfer fee in the "mid six figures."
19.34 BST: While Juventus have been linked with a move for Santos standout Kaio Jorge in January on a free transfer, Bayer Leverkusen are interested in bringing the 19-year-old forward to the Bundesliga this summer, according to Kicker.
18.47 BST: Madrid-based outlet AS reports that Real Madrid are closing in on agreeing a ew three-year contract with versatile winger/full-back Lucas Vazquez with the 29-year-old having rejected an offer from crosstown rivals Atletico Madrid, while still considering a move abroad to join AC Milan.

16.01 BST: Columbus Crew SC have signed midfielder Liam Fraser on loan from Toronto FC.
Fraser, 23, moves in exchange for $50,000 in 2021 General Allocation Money, the clubs announced. The Canada international has made 33 MLS appearances since his debut in 2018.
"Having known Liam since he was an academy player in Toronto, he is a young, motivated and promising competitor whose presence will help deepen our midfield roster during a congested season," Crew President & GM Tim Bezbatchenko said in a statement. "We look forward to integrating him into our squad in Columbus while also helping him continue his professional development."
15.26 BST: Florian Wirtz has extended his contract with Bayer Leverkusen until June 2026.
Wirtz, 18, has been at the club since January 2020 and is now a first-team regular. The midfielder is quickly becoming one of the most sought-after young players in the game but, on the day of his 18th birthday, he has penned new terms.
"Everything at Bayer Leverkusen has been exactly as I expected, and what I was promised," he said. "I'm playing at a great club, one of the best in Germany, and I want us to aim for the highest possible goals in the coming years. I've already improved my football skills in a great team, and I just want to keep going. I want my performances to contribute to us winning titles here in the near future."
Leverkusen's managing director of sport, Rüdi Voller, added: "It's not just his first call-up for Germany that shows that Florian has made fantastic progress in his 18 months here. His outstanding talent was there for all to see, and it meant we had high hopes when we signed him as a 16-year-old in early 2020. Then again, we didn't expect him to become a key figure in our first team! Given his young age, and the fact that he's still working towards his high school diploma, it's an extraordinary achievement. If he keeps this up, he will become a true leader in the next few years, one of the pillars of our team."
14.37 BST: Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke says that Erling Haaland won't be leaving the club.
Haaland, 20, is the best young player in the world and is rated at around €180m. The striker has a €75m release clause which kicks in during 2021 and his agent Mino Raiola has been flying around Europe to nail down his client's next destination, with Man United, City, Barcelona, Real Madrid and the rest of the continent's top clubs all keen.
But Watzke told Sport1: "I've known Raiola for a long time and get along well with him. It's no problem for us. Erling Haaland will remain a Borussia Dortmund player next year."
14.08 BST: Dortmund star Jadon Sancho has a choice to make this summer.
13.45 BST: The Scottish Sun reports that Newcastle are watching Celtic defender Kristoffer Ajer.
Ajer, 23, is in the final year of his contract and looks set to leave after Rangers dominated the Hoops in Scotland this season. Celtic are keen to get around £8m for the Norway international, with Norwich also reportedly keen.
13.02 BST: Manchester United legend Roy Keane says the club should target Tottenham striker Harry Kane and Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish this summer.
"I still feel they [United] are two or three players away from challenging Man City," Keane told Sky Sports. "They're short. They still need a world-class striker, they need another midfielder and also possibly a centre-half. But I'd prioritise a striker and a midfielder.
"The two players who I've thought about over the last few weeks who I feel would be brilliant for Man Utd are Harry Kane up front -- whatever it costs -- and I'd go with Jack Grealish. I feel United are still short of that special player. I think Grealish would give them that and I feel he would enjoy playing at Old Trafford.
"The fans would love him. What I admire about Jack is he's got great courage on the football pitch. He always wants the ball in tight areas. We've seen over the last year or two his end product has improved. He's an excellent player and obviously Kane would guarantee goals."
12.17 BST: Borussia Dortmund would let England international Jadon Sancho leave the club for €100m, sources have told ESPN's Stephan Uersfeld.
Sancho, 21, was tipped to leave Dortmund last summer but a deal never materialised as Dortmund were reluctant to let him leave for under €120m and interested clubs, such as Manchester United, were unwilling to pay that much.
However, as the summer transfer window approaches, Dortmund have re-evaluated their previous valuation and reduced it to €100m. The winger is under contract at the Westfalenstadion until 2023.
Sources have told ESPN that there isn't a deadline this summer as to when a deal must be completed by.

11.11 BST: Valencia have sacked manager Javi Gracia after the 3-2 defeat to Barcelona on Sunday.
A statement read: "Valencia CF have informed Javi Gracia of his dismissal as coach of the first team, as of Monday. The club would like to publicly thank him for his work and dedication during his time coaching the team, and wish him the best of success for the future. Salvador González 'Voro' will take charge of the first team on an interim basis."
10.31 BST: Club America striker Roger Martinez has emerged as a priority target for Boca Juniors after ESPN reported that Edinson Cavani is likely to turn down the change to move to the Argentinian side to renew his contract with Manchester United for one more season.
TYC Sport reports that Boca Juniors sports director Juan Roman Riquelme has identified Martinez as an alternative target but a deal won't be easy with America likely to demand over $10m for his services. Martinez joined America from Villarreal in 2018 and has since scored 23 goal in 99 appearances for the Mexican side.
09.51 BST: Former Roma and Bournemouth forward Juan Iturbe is expected to become a free agent as his contract with Pumas is set to expire at the end of Guardianes 2021 and the Mexican club are unlikely to offer him a new deal due to his high salary, sources confirmed to ESPN Deportes.
The 27-year-old forward joined Pumas from Tijuana in 2018 but has since failed to establish himself in the starting XI, scoring 12 goals in 93 games.
09.23 BST: Achraf Hakimi moved from Real Madrid to new Serie A title winners Inter Milan for around €40m in the summer and has settled well.
Hakimi, 22, has impressed as Inter claimed the Scudetto for the first time since 2009-10 but the full-back suggested a return to the Bernabeu at some point could be possible.
"Real Madrid was my home, I would've loved to stay there and fight for my place," he told El Chiringuito. "But the club decided otherwise, I can't blame manager Zinedine] Zidane or the board. I guess Real Madrid maybe have the right of first refusal for me".
08.30 BST: Real Madrid have made an improved offer to Lucas Vazquez to remain at the club beyond this summer, according to Onda Cero.
Vazquez, 29, becomes a free agent on June 30 and has yet to sign a contract extension with Real Madrid.
The Spanish winger/full-back already turned down a three-year contract extension offered by Madrid that would see his wages cut by 10%. Real Madrid are eager for Vazquez to stay put and have made an improved offer, that includes a three-year deal with an optional fourth. Vazquez has been a key player for coach Zinedine Zidane and has played 34 of Madrid's 46 games this season.
Edwin van der Sar says he would be open to a return to Old Trafford in the future.

- New Barcelona president Joan Laporta's top target appears to be Neymar, with the La Liga giants contacting Paris Saint-Germain about a move that would reunite the 29-year-old Brazilian striker with Lionel Messi. That is according to RAC 1, which believes Barca are not only looking to convince Messi to stay but also to create a commercial opportunity -- that is, signing Neymar -- that might help their financial situation. The outlet says Barcelona will offer PSG €130m plus three players.
- Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho is reported to have a gentleman's agreement that would allow him to leave under certain criteria, according to an interview by ARD with club sporting director Michael Zorc. Zorc revealed that Manchester United almost activated this agreement last summer. It is likely the Red Devils will return this time around with a €90m offer, with Dortmund facing the prospect of not claiming a European place for next season.
- Following reports from Saturday that Real Madrid were considering making an offer for Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski in the summer, Bild has suggested the Premier League is a far likelier destination. It reports that with the Poland international's existing deal coming to an end in June 2023, Bayern aren't thinking about negotiating a new contract just yet.
- Leicester are continuing negotiations to sign midfielder Boubakary Soumare from Lille, reports Fabrizio Romano. The Foxes have been on the trail for the 22-year-old for some time, and with his contract expiring in June 2022, Leicester are one of many clubs looking to seize the opportunity to sign him, with Lille more likely to let him leave this summer rather than lose him on a free in 12 months' time.
- Newly promoted Watford have opened talks to bring back 35-year-old Ashley Young to the club as a free agent, says Fabrizio Romano. The Hornets are ready to pounce if Serie A champions Internazionale don't offer the left-back a new contract at the end of the season.
