Juventus are almost out of the Serie A title race, trailing Inter Milan by 12 points, and were knocked out of the Champions League by FC Porto in the round of 16. It's not even certain they will qualify for next season's UCL, only three points ahead of fifth in the table, which leaves the Bianconeri reeling and likely to need to make some financial cutbacks.
Ronaldo has a weekly wage of £540,000 which could prove to be too costly, so three years after his £99 million move to Turin from Real Madrid he could join Les Parisiens, who are keen to swoop for the five-time Ballon d'Or winner.
Despite Juve sporting director Fabio Paratici insisting the club are determined to keep their Portuguese talisman, the decision to sell could become a financial necessity.
For PSG, Ronaldo could be the perfect replacement for Mbappe if he heads to La Liga. Ronaldo has netted 32 goals in 36 games this season, Mbappe 32 in 38.
Ronaldo has also won the Champions League at both Manchester United and Real Madrid, as well as league titles in England, Italy and Spain, and so he would fit in with PSG's aspirations.
Tuttosport also suggest that Juventus could sign Mauro Icardi, a player they have scouted for some time.

21.38 BST: Tottenham Hotspur have been rumoured to be after RB Leipzig midfielder Marcel Sabitzer for some time now, with the 27-year-old's contract expiring next summer. But the Austria international's representatives have yet to hold talks with the Bundesliga outfit, who are prepared to lose their captain as a free agent next summer rather than receive a transfer fee for his services in 2021, according to Kicker.
20.41 BST: Corriere dello Sport reports that Juventus and Paulo Dybala are at a stalemate on a new contract, with his deal expiring in little more than 12 months' time, and as such the Bianconeri are exploring their options in finding a new home for the 27-year-old attacker. The report suggests that Barcelona, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are interested, but the most intriguing proposal is a potential swap deal that would see the Argentina international move to Paris Saint-Germain while compatriot Mauro Icardi returns to Italy with Juve.
19.44 BST: Amid reports that Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani could return to South America and sign for Argentina giants Boca Juniors at the end of the season, Red Devils manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer addressed the situation following Sunday's win over Tottenham Hotspur.
"We've had upfront and honest meetings, there's no secret we want to keep him," Solskjaer said. "I don't think it's any secret that it's been a difficult year for everyone not been possible to have friends and family over and without quarantining you can't travel. He's not been able to experience the fantastic culture in Manchester and England and he is contemplating and thinking long and hard about what he wants to do and I understand.
"He knows what we want. I want him at Old Trafford while it's full at the Stretford End scoring a diving header like today there's no better feeling, so let's wait and see."
18.47 BST: Paris Saint-Germain's preference is to keep Kylian Mbappe in the French capital, but if they're unable to do that, Telefoot reports that there are two names being considered as potential replacements for the 22-year-old forward: 27-year-old Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur, and Liverpool's 28-year-old Mohamed Salah. And, of course, Les Parisiens are still interested in recruiting Lionel Messi should he leave Barcelona.
17.30 BST: Rumours about Harry Kane's future continue, and The Athletic now believes there is substance to reports that the England captain will ask to leave Tottenham Hotspur if they fail to qualify for the Champions League.
It is said that Manchester City and Manchester United are most likely to offer him a route out of Spurs, though it seems unlikely that he would be sold to a Premier League rival.
But it may not be that simple. Kane isn't even halfway through a six-year contract, and at 27 years old any club which buys Kane would have to accept they are unlikely to have much resale value in a few years' time. And a club must find a huge transfer fee amid the coronavirus pandemic.
16.41 BST: More from Juventus now, and reports that Alvaro Morata could return to Atletico Madrid at the end of the season if Juve try to sign Sergio Aguero, Mauro Icardi or Moise Kean.
Morata, who scored in Juve's 3-1 win over Genoa on Sunday, is on loan in Turin and Juve have the option to keep the 28-year-old striker -- either in another temporary move or in a permanent €45m transfer.
Juventus' CFO Fabio Paratici says no decision has yet been taken on the Spain international.
"We have many options regarding Morata," Paratici told Sky Sport Italia. "We can sign him on a permanent deal or extend his stay on loan. He's given a lot to Juventus and we trust him. He is a serious guy and we've always believed in him."
15.58 BST: Tuttosport says AC Milan have offered Gianluigi Donnarumma a contract worth €8m-a-season, but there is still no sign of the 22-year-old goalkeeper putting pen to paper.
Donnarumma now has less than three months remaining on his current deal and he can walk away on a free transfer. Milan are well placed to seal a place in next season's Champions League, and that may end up as the deciding factor.
Tuttosport is confident that Donnarumma does want to stay, but super agent Mino Raiola has his eyes on a bumper pay packet.
15.07 BST: Telefoot in France is reporting that Mauricio Pochettino is eyeing up a reunion with Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane. With Spurs in danger of missing out on the top four and a place in the Champions League, Kane could look to move on to play in Europe's elite competition.
Telefoot journalist Julien Maynard says that Pochettino has personally called Kane to find out what he plans to do next season, as PSG start to make plans in case Kylian Mbappe doesn't sign a new contract.

The report also states that PSG have approached representatives of Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah, who has two years left on his deal.

14.19 BST: Juventus' CFO Fabio Paratici has attempted to silence talk that Paulo Dybala could be sold by revealing discussions are under way to extend his contract.
Reports in the Italian media have suggested Juve must raise €100m in player sales by the summer to plug a financial hole, and Dybala was identified as a possible departure. But Paratici insists the Argentine forward is very much part of the club's future.
"We talk to Dybala's agent every week," Paratici told Sky Sport Italia.
13.32 BST: Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur were thought to be leading the race to sign Boubakary Soumare from Lille, but the Star on Sunday reckons Leicester City are confident of sealing a deal.
Soumare, a 22-year-old midfielder, is valued at £30m and has been likened in playing style to Paul Pogba. Lille may have to sell this summer as he is about to move into the final year of his contract, and a move to the Premier League beckons.
12.41 BST: The Sunday Mirror reckons that Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne is quids in after negotiating his own contract extension, rather than using an agent.
De Bruyne signed a new long-term contract on Wednesday that will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until 2025 on a reported £400,000-a-week.
The Mirror says that the total package is worth around £83million -- and De Bruyne won't have to pay the usual 10% agent's fees after falling out with former adviser Patrick De Koster.
11.53 BST: On Friday, reports suggested that Manchester United could use West Ham United's interest in a permanent deal for Jesse Lingard to land Declan Rice. Most of the Premier League's top clubs have been linked with England star Rice, but the Hammers are adamant he's not for sale. David Moyes says even £100m would not be enough to take Rice away from the London Stadium.
Now the Sun on Sunday says that West Ham have told the Red Devils that they will not entertain selling Rice to them just to get Lingard.
11.04 BST: Globoesporte in Brazil is reporting that Arsenal could look to add another Martinelli to their ranks, Matheus Martinelli of Fluminense. The 19-year-old midfielder is highly rated in Brazil, though there could be doubts about his ability to get a work permit having not represented his country at youth level.
Martinelli only made his first-team debut for his club in November but has been a revelation. The report states that Manchester United have also sent scouts to watch Martinelli, who could be available for €40m.
10.19 BST: Jesse Lingard has been a revelation since joining West Ham United on loan from Manchester United in January. The forward is spearheading the Hammers' bid for a place in next season's Champions League, scoring six goals in eight league games, and David Moyes is desperate to sign the England international on a permanent deal in the summer.
However, the Star on Sunday reports that Arsenal could attempt to hijack the deal and take the 28-year-old to the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners lost out to West Ham for the loan deal, but they may have too much muscle to seal a permanent transfer.
09.30 BST: How much money is too much money? Well the Sunday Mirror has an exclusive that super agent Mino Raiola wants to make Erling Haaland the first-ever £1m-a-week player.
Raiola and Erling's father Alf-Inge have already met with officials from Barcelona and Real Madrid as he starts to look for a summer move for a player Borussia Dortmund valued at €180m. All of Europe's biggest clubs will be desperate to land the Norwegian striker, who seems certain to move on at the end of the season.
Lionel Messi is paid a reported £500,00-a-week after tax but Raiola wants to make Haaland the best-paid star.

- Manchester United are looking to bring back 28-year-old goalkeeper Sam Johnstone from West Bromwich Albion, according to The Sun. United have put Johnstone at the top of their wish list if either David de Gea or Dean Henderson leave in the summer. Johnstone left Old Trafford to join the Baggies in 2018, but he could be tempted by a return as his deal at the Hawthorns about to enter the final year. Johnstone is one of West Brom's biggest earners and the club may need move his salary off the wage bill if they're relegated.
- Juventus are keen to re-sign 21-year-old Moise Kean from Everton, and the Bianconeri are prepared to offer Adrien Rabiot or Aaron Ramsey a move in the other direction. That's according to Tuttosport, which suggests that while Kean will be unable to move to PSG on a permanent deal following his loan spell this season, Juve are keen to resign a player they sold in 2019. Toffees manager Carlo Ancelotti is said to be a big fan of Rabiot.
- Borussia Dortmund and West Ham United are interested in signing Swedish striker Jordan Larsson from Spartak Moscow, reports Goal. Dortmund are looking at new striker options should Erling Haaland leave the club as expected this summer, but the German side face a battle with West Ham. Larsson, 23, has scored 12 goals so far this season and was voted the Spartak's player of the month for March.
- Everton could be soon looking for a replacement for defender Yerry Mina, according to Tuttomercatoweb, and the club has eyed Kalidou Koulibaly as the ideal candidate. Ancelotti worked with Koulibaly for 18 months at Napoli and has a good relationship with the defender. With Mina seemingly wanting a move away from Goodison Park, it could mean the 29-year-old Koulibaly will head to the Premier League.
- Manchester United and Leeds United have joined Everton and Liverpool in monitoring the progress of Sheffield United centre-back Kyron Gordon, according to the Daily Mail. The 18-year-old has been in and around the Blades' first team this season and now, as he prepares to enter the final year of his contract, the big clubs are circling.
- Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a move for Marouane Fellaini, according to Voetball24. The 33-year-old Belgian played under Mourinho at Manchester United and his contract at Chinese club Shandong Taishan is due to end in December. With Fellaini keen on a return to England, Spurs boss Jose Mourinho sees Fellaini as the perfect signing as he looks to overhaul his squad this summer. Fellaini scored 22 times and added 12 assists in 177 appearances for United.
