TOP STORY: Man United pursue Saul deal
Manchester United are ready to offer Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez £150,000 a week to lure him to Old Trafford, the Star reports.
United went after Saul last summer but couldn't quite get a deal over the finish line, but in the wake of Atletico's dramatic Champions League exit this week, they believe the 25-year-old could be persuaded to make the move.
He's already reportedly considering his future in the Spanish capital, with the big problem in his mind being Atletico's lack of spending power in the transfer market.

22.14 BST: Harry Winks to Manchester City?
The Sun suggests that Pep Guardiola is keen on the Tottenham midfielder and is ready to make a £40 million bid for the 24-year-old. The possession midfielder has been capped six times by England but is expected to fall down the pecking order in London now that Spurs have signed Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Southampton.
The 24-year-old just signed a five-year contract extension with Tottenham in 2019 but is tailor-made for Pep Guardiola's system at Man City. Winks would replace David Silva, who now that Man City have been eliminated from the Champions League, is expected to join Lazio.
21.19 BST: West Ham want £80 million for Declan Rice but Chelsea are trying to get creative in order to sign the midfielder.
The 21-year-old, who was released by Chelsea at 14, is one of the Blues' top targets along with Kai Havertz, now that they have already inked up Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech. The Times understands that West Ham have already rejected a proposed swap deal for Rice that would have included Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley and striker Michy Batshuayi.
Rice, even at a young age, has shown he can be a top player in both defensive midfield and at centre-back, and West Ham are steadfast on getting £80m for the player.
20.33 BST: The Los Angeles Galaxy are set to sign Colombian winger Yony Gonzalez from Benfica on loan with an option to buy.
Colombian outlet El Deportivo.com writes that the Galaxy are signing the 26-year-old winger, who has yet to appear for the Portuguese club. Gonzalez previously starred in his native Colombia with Atletico Junior and in Brazil with Fluminense.
19.54 BST: Tottenham's Luke Amos is closing in on a permanent move to QPR, according to talkSport.
The 23-year-old midfielder, who spent last season on loan at QPR, is set to sign a three-year contract at QPR. Amos, who fell down the pecking order at Spurs following a knee injury in 2018, was one of QPR's top targets this summer.
19.06 BST: The departure of Raul Sanllehi as Arsenal's director of football could throw the club's hopes of securing Philippe Coutinho into trouble, according to the Mirror.
Arsenal announced on Saturday that Sanllehi would leave his role effective immediately and be replaced by managing director Vinai Venkatesham.
Coutinho had expressed an interest in returning to the Premier League and when Sanllehi worked at Barcelona he was involved in securing the 28-year-old from Liverpool.
According to reports in Spain, Sanllehi was the driving force behind talks because of this connection with Barcelona.
Coutinho is on loan at Bayern Munich for the 2019-20 season and scored twice against Barcelona as the Bundesliga champions demolished the Spanish side 8-2 in their Champions League quarterfinal.
18.33 BST: Talks are ongoing between Manchester United and goalkeeper Dean Henderson about a new long-term contract, according to Sky Sports.
The 23-year-old has spent the last two years at Bramall Lane with Sheffield United and has impressed.
He was nominated for the Premier League Young Player of the Year award for the 2019-20 season but lost out to Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold.
United are reportedly keen to keen the England international around as he will provide good competition for No. 1 David de Gea.
However, several other Premier League clubs are said to be interested in him should he go out on another loan deal.
17.52 BST: Bild are reporting that Weston McKennie's move from Schalke to Hertha Berlin has fallen through.
The U.S. men's national team midfielder looked like he was set to move to Hertha with the clubs reportedly in advanced talks.
However, Bild are now saying that those talks have collapsed.
Premier League clubs Wolves, Leicester City and Southampton are all said to be interested with the latter leading the race for the 21-year-old.
McKennie made 28 league appearances this season, scoring three goals, and has previously said he would like to play in England.
"For me, the next goal is England. It has always been my dream to play in the Premier League," he told DAZN.
"I want to join a club that fights for a place in Europe -- the Champions League or the Europa League. For now, I'm happy at Schalke because I get to play."
17.09 BST: Odion Ighalo has no intention of leaving Manchester United for Paris Saint-Germain despite reports to that effect in France, according to the Manchester Evening News.
Sources close to the player told the outlet that there is "no truth at all" to rumours his time at Old Trafford would be cut short.
The initial reports implied that Paris Saint-Germain were looking at Ighalo as a replacement for the outgoing Edinson Cavani.
The Nigeria international extended his loan spell at United until the end of January 2021 and a move would require both sides agreeing to mutually terminate his contract.
He has scored five goals in 18 appearances for the club and is part of the squad that will play Sevilla in the Europa League semifinal on Sunday.
16.37 BST: There has been a breakthrough in talks between Leicester City and Chelsea for left-back Ben Chilwell, according to the Times.
Chelsea head coach Frank Lampard had picked the 23-year-old as one of his main targets this summer after securing the attacking power of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner.
The England international has been valued at close to £80m by Leicester which had been seen as high by Chelsea but recent talks have been fruitful.
Chilwell's contract at Leicester runs until 2024, costing the club about £65,000-a-week, but it appears he could get out of it before then.
16.00 BST: Manchester United and Juventus could team up to create a swap deal with Paulo Dybala and Paul Pogba, according to Tuttosport.
New Juventus head coach Andrea Pirlo is a fan of Pogba and is looking to reinforce his midfield ahead of the new Serie A season.
With both players valued around the same price, it could be a win-win situation for both teams.
Several clubs have talked about using swap deals rather than buying players this summer due to the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
15.23 BST: Inter Milan are interested in Chelsea's N'Golo Kante, according to Gazetta.
The 29-year-old has been linked with a move to Serie A as Chelsea manager Frank Lampard looks to raise funds at the London club.
Chelsea have already spent big this summer with Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech and Inter manager Antonio Conte is said to be keen to be reunited with Kante.
However, Kante's £290,000-a-week wages as well as a high transfer fee are likely to be stumbling blocks for the Nerazzurri.
The France international still has three years left on his contract but had a frustrating season after injury reduced him to just 20 league starts.
14.54 BST: Andreas Pereira and Tahith Chong are expected to leave Manchester United in the coming weeks, the Times are reporting.
Pereira, 24, is reportedly of interest to Benfica as well as some German and Spanish clubs.
The Brazil attacking midfielder joined United from PSV Eindhoven in 2012 and has made 75 appearances for the club. The arrival of Bruno Fernandes at the club has seen Pereira drop down the pecking order.
Werder Bremen is the expected destination for Chong, according to the Times, with a 10-month loan expected to be agreed in the next 48 hours.
The 20-year-old's contract at Old Trafford expires in 2022 and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sees this loan as an opportunity to give the winger more playing time.
He has made 13 appearances this season with 10 of those coming from off the bench.
14.21 BST: Borussia Dortmund are set to sign Real Madrid youngster Reinier Jesus, sources have told ESPN's Stephan Uersfeld.
The Bundesliga side are looking to secure the 18-year-old, who only joined Real Madrid from Flamengo in January, on a one-year loan deal with an option to extend for another year.
The agreement will not include a buy option for the Brazil under-23 international.
However, Dortmund will get a right of refusal should Real Madrid decide to sell the attacking midfielder following the loan.
13.34 BST: Newcastle United have been offered the chance to sign Manchester United defender Chris Smalling, according to the Chronicle Live.
The England international spent the 2019-20 season on loan in Roma and had been hopeful of staying on with the Serie A side but was recalled to Old Trafford in July.
Smalling has also reportedly attracted interest from Fulham and is likely to make a move away from United, either on loan or permanently, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer preferring other options.
The 29-year-old made 30 league appearances for Roma and impressed over the season, contributing three goals and helping them to a fifth-place finish.
He said he was "gutted" to leave the club, having hoped he could see out the end of their Europa League campaign.
12.53 BST: Celta Vigo have signed Miguel Baeza from Real Madrid on a five-year deal, the La Liga club announced on Saturday.
The attacking midfielder will join the side straight away to start preparing for the new season.
Baeza played for Real Madrid's reserve team in Segunda Division B and registered nine goals and four assists over 26 games.
"Our club wants to thank Miguel Baeza for his dedication, his professionalism and his exemplary behavior during all the seasons that he has been part of our club and wishes him good luck in his new stage," Real Madrid said in a statement.
12.22 BST: Valencia president Anil Murthy has revealed Ferran Torres turned down the option to become one of the highest paid players at the club, opting instead to join Manchester City this summer.
The winger joined City in July for an initial fee of £20.8m plus bonuses.
Torres, who had one year left on his contract with Valencia, recently revealed that he made his decision to leave Valencia last summer once he was told that he was surplus to requirements despite playing a key role in Spain winning the under-19 European Championship.
However, Murthy has disputed this claim and said Torres was offered a high salary to stay with the side.
"In the specific case of Ferran Torres, we should be clear: He chose to leave, despite being offered one of the best salaries on the team," Murthy said.
"His agent said 'no' to the offer. Each person chooses their own path to take. We will learn from this experience, but we won't forget it. We have a good group of players from the VCF Academy coming up and we will make sure that we don't have this kind of problem again."
11.35 BST: Quique Setien's tenure as Barcelona coach is set to come to an end in the coming days following Friday's humiliating 8-2 Champions League exit at the hands of Bayern Munich, sources have told ESPN's Moises Llorens and Sam Marsden.
Barca were chasing their first Champions League triumph since 2015 but, having already missed out on the La Liga title, were ruthlessly exposed by Bayern as they suffered their biggest ever European defeat.
The loss was the final nail in Setien's coffin, but sources have told ESPN that the decision to replace the coach had already been taken prior to the Bayern game.
ESPN reported on Friday that the overriding feeling among the Barca hierarchy is that Setien, hired in January, has failed to win the dressing room because of his relatively limited achievements as both a player and a coach.
Barca want their next appointment to be a name that garners immediate respect among the players, with former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino, Netherlands coach Ronald Koeman and club legend Xavi Hernandez among the early front-runners for the role.

10.59 BST: Manchester City goalkeeper Claudio Bravo has reached an agreement to join Real Betis this summer, according to La Cuarta.
The Chile international will reportedly become Betis' first summer reinforcement.
Bravo's contract with City expires after the Champions League campaign and he has reportedly agreed with Betis to sign a one-year contract with an option to extend it for a further season.
Bravo had offers to play in Russia and Turkey but is keen to return to La Liga four years after leaving Barcelona to sign for City.
At Betis, Bravo, 37, will work under compatriot Manuel Pellegrini.
"Betis is a club that has a great history in Spain, many fans," Bravo recently said. "It's one of those clubs that would attract any player. Imagine what Betis now means with a great coach Manuel [Pellegrini] at the helm."
10.25 BST: Benfica announced the signings of Jan Vertonghen and Everton Soares on Friday.
Vertonghen, 33, put pen to paper on a three-year contract with the Lisbon outfit after his contract with Tottenham had expired.
"Ajax and Tottenham are clubs of the people, and Benfica is a club of the people," the Belgium international defender said. "It has national and European ambitions. That was important to me because I want to win national and European trophies. Benfica has the same ambition as me."
Brazil international winger Everton, also known as "Cebolinha," joins from Gremio in a €20m transfer and has signed a contract until June 2025. Benfica have placed a €150m release clause on the 24-year-old.
"This is a great club," he said. "I'm fulfilling my dream of playing in Europe and a club as big as Benfica. I know greatness not only at the national level but also in Europe. I made the right choice."
09.42 BST: Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has said that the club are unable to make signings but remains adamant Jadon Sancho will not join Manchester United this summer.
The Bundesliga club have been hit hard by the economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic but Watzke said the club are confident Sancho will remain for the 2020-21 campaign.
Sources have told ESPN that the England international is Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's top target but United failed to meet a Aug. 10 deadline to make a €120 million bid for the forward before he joined up with Dortmund's preseason squad.
On Monday, Dortmund are set to announce losses of over €40m for last term and Watzke told dpa: "It's a fact that there is no more money left for transfer fee."
"If you lose €4m for every match played without fans, and we do that, you must not be a prophet to calculate which direction it's headed. We definitely can't make any more big leaps.
"Sancho staying at BVB is set in stone. We will not discuss the details. But what I can emphasis: If Michael Zorc, who is a Westphalian just like me, talks about a definite decision, then it's definite. There is no room for interpretation."
09.00 BST: Gerard Pique says Barcelona need changes at all levels of the club after hitting "rock bottom" in Friday's humiliating 8-2 Champions League quarterfinal loss against Bayern Munich, and even said he would walk away from the club if that's what is needed to turn things around.
"No one is indispensable," the 33-year-old said. "I'm not. I'll go if new blood has to come in and change this dynamic because we've hit rock bottom.
"We all have to reflect internally and decide what's best for the club, which is the most important thing. This was unacceptable for a club like Barcelona."

PAPER TALK (by Harry Kettle): Leverkusen set for Havertz talks
Bayer Leverkusen CEO Fernando Carro has confirmed that the club is preparing for talks with Kai Havertz regarding his future at the club.
The youngster has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea this summer, and during an interview with Kolner Stadt-Anzeiger, Carro made it clear that they'll be discussing the matter with Havertz himself very soon.
"It was always clear that there would be talks as soon as the Europa League is over for us," he said. "Kai has expressed the wish to take the next step. I cannot say at the moment whether this will work in the near future or not."
Oblak a blow for Chelsea?
The Star reports that Atletico Madrid are not going to be "pressured" into parting with goalkeeper Jan Oblak this summer.
Chelsea are planning on moving on from Kepa Arrizabalaga after an uncertain season between the posts at Stamford Bridge. However, with Atletico valuing the Slovenia international at £110 million, it doesn't appear as if the Blues are in control of the situation.
Oblak himself is apparently tempted by the potential deal and the Premier League club is still determined to try and get it done, but there's a long road ahead.

- AC Milan are not willing to bid more than £13m for Tottenham Hotspur defender Serge Aurier, according to Bleacher Report. Spurs are hoping to sign Lille full-back Zeki Celik, but before they're able to do so, they must first get Aurier off their books. The club values him at around £20m, but right now, Milan aren't willing to budge.
- Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has made it clear that the club will demand a large fee if they were to ever consider moving on from Borna Barisic, the Glasgow Evening Times reports. The in-form left-back has had a strong start to the new campaign, and while Gerrard understands the interest in him, he made sure that the masses knew it would take a lot for the club to let the Croatian go.
