TOP STORY: Chelsea could sell Jorginho to fund Rice raid
Chelsea have been linked with a move for West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice through the summer, and now the Daily Star reports the club are about to move the chess pieces to fund a £65 million bid.
Jorginho could be the high-profile casualty of manager Frank Lampard's rebuild, with the 28-year-old tipped to return to Serie A -- perhaps to be reunited with Maurizio Sarri at Juventus.
If Rice arrives then Lampard wouldn't need both Jorginho and N'Golo Kante in his squad, and it seems the Italy international could be the one to make way.

22.38 BST: Tottenham are set to target a youngster from rivals Arsenal, writes The Mirror.
The paper has learned that Tottenham are interested in Ainsley Maitland-Niles, after the 22-year-old was recently told he was free to leave the Emirates. Valued at £30 million, Maitland-Niles is capable of playing in midfield, as a full-back, wing-back or even on the wing, but has been surpassed by other youngsters like Kieran Tierney, Bukayo Saka and Reiss Nelson in the fight for playing time.
The versatile player, who is also of interest to Brighton and Everton, would be the first player to go for Arsenal to Tottenham since Rohan Ricketts in 2002.
21.40 BST: Leicester are looking to pry a couple of young talents from Barcelona in Francisco Trincao and Jean-Clair Todibo.
While they have so far been rebuffed in their bid to sign Trincao, there is hope regarding Todibo. The French youth international, 20, spent the second half of last season on loan in Germany with Schalke but the Bundesliga side elected not to take up the option to make the move permanent. According to Sport, via Sport Witness, Leicester have now entered the race for the former Toulouse man, who Barca signed on a free transfer in 2019 but is now valued at €25 million by the Catalan club.
Leicester may be in the market for a centre-back as Caglar Soyuncu has been linked with a move away from the King Power Stadium, with Barcelona of all teams one of the clubs reportedly interested.
20.49 BST: West Brom are back in the Premier League and with that Slaven Bilic will be keen to bolster his defence.
The Mirror writes that the Baggies could turn to Premier League veteran Shane Duffy as a solution, with the Republic of Ireland international suddenly in a crowded Brighton centre-back position group alongside Lewis Dunk, Adam Webster, Ben White and new signing Joel Veltman.
The 28-year-old, who was Brighton's Player of the Year in 2018-19 and has twice been the Irish Footballer of the Year, has plenty of experience, having played over 120 Premier League games over the past four seasons at the Amex Stadium.
West Ham have also been linked with the towering centre-back.

A day after sacking Maurizio Sarri, Juventus have announced that former playmaker Andrea Pirlo will be their new manager. The 41-year-old, who played for the Old Lady between 2011-15, was only announced as Juventus' Under-23 coach last week and has yet to oversee a game as a full-time coach.

As a player, the Italian won six Serie A titles (four of which came with Juve), two Coppa Italias (one with Juve), two Champions Leagues and the World Cup with Italy in 2006. Pirlo has signed a two-year contract in Turin and will be Juve's third different manager in as many seasons.
19.26 BST: Leicester City and Liverpool interested in Greece international defender?
Both clubs are considering Olympiakos and Greece left-back Kostas Tsimikas, according to a report in the Daily Mail. The 24-year-old has reportedly been a target for Leicester for over a year and could be lined up to replace Ben Chilwell, while Liverpool are considering the £12 million-rated Tsimikas and Norwich's Jamal Lewis as back-up options behind Andrew Robertson.
18.57 BST: Sheffield United are preparing to make a second bid for Bournemouth goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, the Daily Mail understands.
The Blades are reportedly set to offer £15 million for the England Under-21 international, after having an initial bid of £12m rejected last week. Sheffield are looking to sign a goalkeeper, as loan star Dean Henderson's future is murky after returning to parent club Man United.
Ideally, Sheffield would want to take Henderson back on loan again next season but with Man United able to loan him out to whoever they please and time running out, Chris Wilder and Co. can't afford to wait.
18.03 BST: Leeds really want to buy loan star Ben White outright but Brighton -- at least at this stage -- are holding their ground.
Sky Sports reports that Leeds have had a second bid for the centre-back, this time of £22 million, rejected by the South Coast side. White, 22, was one of the biggest standouts for Leeds during their Championship league title campaign, appearing 46 times and helping the Whites keep 22 clean sheets.
Brighton are desperate to hold onto the prized defender but so far have been unable to agree to fresh terms with White, whose current contract at the AMEX Stadium runs through 2022.
17.11 BST: Are Manchester United considering signing a goalkeeper to push David De Gea?
According to the Daily Star, United are keen on Napoli's Alex Meret and will be scouting the Italy international on Saturday in the Champions League against Barcelona. The report states that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to sign the 23-year-old to rival the Spaniard, and that the Norwegian believes Dean Henderson would be best served to spend one more season on loan.
In this scenario, Meret who is valued at £30 million would replace Sergio Romero at Old Trafford and put some pressure on De Gea to up his play, which was very spotty after the restart.
16.32 BST: Chelsea are loaded with talented youngsters meaning there isn't a place for everyone at the moment at Stamford Bridge.
Twenty-year-old Conor Gallagher is one of the highest regarded of that group and thus there are plenty of clubs lining up to sign the young midfielder on loan. Newcastle, West Ham and Crystal Palace are three of at least eight clubs who have enquired about Gallagher, who last season racked up six goals and 11 assists while on loan at Swansea.
With the club's Saudi takeover having fallen through, Steve Bruce will again need to be creative in boosting Newcastle's ranks, and the Northern Echo reports Gallagher and Liverpool's Harry Wilson are two of the club's main targets.
15.45 BST: On Saturday we covered Celtic's interest in both Sheffield Wednesday's Steven Fletcher and West Ham's Albian Ajeti, and it appears as the Hoops are making room for one -- if not both -- of those strikers.
Striker Vakoun Issouf Bayo has been pictured holding up a Toulouse shirt, signalling the Ivorian's imminent loan move to the Ligue 2 side.The 23-year-old, who joined Celtic in Jan. 2019, will join the French side after so far scoring four goals in 15 games for the nine-time defending Scottish champions.
14.58 BST: With AS Roma's takeover now complete, the club are hoping to take Chris Smalling to the club on a permanent basis. The defender, who was on loan at the Serie A club last season, was expected to return to Manchester United after there was no agreement on an extension to cover the latter stages of the Europa League this month. However, reports in Italy say Roma should now have the funds to sign him from United and get close to the €20m asking price.
14.20 BST: More Chelsea news now, and Bayer Leverkusen managing director Rudi Voller has said that there is no chance of any discount on the asking price for Kai Havertz because of the coronavirus pandemic. He is thought to favour a move to Stamford Bridge.
"We know of the interest of a couple of clubs, especially Chelsea, but for us, the situation is quite simple; he has a two-year contract," Voller told La Gazzetta dello Sport. "If anyone wants him on our terms, fine, otherwise he stays here another year and we are happy. It won't be easy, but for an artist like him there is no Covid discount."
13.42 BST: It's fair to say things haven't worked out for Tiemoue Bakayoko at Chelsea. After one full season at the club, he has spent the last two campaigns on loan at AC Milan and former club AS Monaco. Milan are reportedly keen on taking the player on a permanent basis but don't want to meet Chelsea's €20m asking price. La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the 25-year-old will accept a massive pay cut to facilitate his exit from Stamford Bridge, but the deal will only happen if there's compromise over the fee.
13.00 BST: Widespread reports in Italy -- from Sky Sport Italia, Corriere dello Sport and Sportitalia -- say that David Silva will on Monday sign a three-year contract with Lazio. The Manchester City player, who will leave the club when his contract expires upon the completion of their Champions League campaign this month, reportedly rejected an offer to move to MLS with Inter Miami.
It is claimed that Lazio dangled the carrot of the use of a private jet so he can fly to Spain to visit his family, as well as being offered his own personal driver. Silva's father had already said that it was the player's ambition to play in Serie A before he retires.
12.11 BST: Juventus chairman Andrea Agnelli has dismissed speculation that Cristiano Ronaldo could leave Juventus after their shock Champions League exit to Lyon on Friday night. A report in France Football last week had claimed Cristiano Ronaldo was preparing to leave Juve for Paris Saint-Germain earlier this year.
"I am entirely convinced he will stay," Agnelli said. "I think the report was down to an interview from several months ago, which just happened to be published just before we played against a French team. It's an old media trick. No, I can assure you that Ronaldo remains a pillar of Juventus."
ESPN learned on Friday that PSG prefer to extend Kylian Mbappe and Neymar's contracts rather than finally sign a player they have coveted for years.
11.31 BST: A transfer battle could be about to break out for Lyon attacking midfielder Houssem Aouar. L'Equipe reports that the 22-year-old is being tracked by Arsenal and Juventus. He was also been monitored by Manchester City, but they have now completed a deal for Ferran Torres from Valencia.
Aouar is reported to be valued at around £54m, after scoring nine goals from midfielder for Lyon last season.
10.51 BST: Werder Bremen are hoping to sign midfielder Tahith Chong on loan from Manchester United, says sporting director Frank Baumann.
"We are leading good conversations. Several parties are involved," he said. "There are some things which have to be settled. It will still take some time. At the moment I cannot say how likely a [loan] transfer is."
10.12 BST: Leeds United are preparing their transfer business ahead of their first season back in the Premier League, and Liverpool midfielder Harry Wilson is high on their list of targets. The Wales international, who spent last season on loan at AFC Bournemouth, could move to Elland Road for around £15m, reports The Sun. But Liverpool could yet choose to loan out again, to Aston Villa or Newcastle United, in the hope that his performances put a few million onto his value.
09.30 BST: In case you missed this one on Friday, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is set to hand Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta a major boost by signing a new £250,000-a-week deal tying him to the club until 2023, sources have told ESPN.

Hojbjerg nearing move to Spurs
Only a medical stands between Southampton's Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg officially signing for Tottenham Hotspur, according to the Independent.
The Danish midfielder is set to join Spurs for £15m, as Spurs boss Jose Mourinho sees Hojbjerg as a key member of his team following an impressive four-year stint with the Hampshire club.
Kyle Walker-Peters is set to go the other way and join the Saints for £12m.
Havertz could tie up Chelsea deal next week
Respected Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has suggested that Kai Havertz could join Chelsea from Bayer Leverkusen as early as next week.
The German has long been associated with a move away from the Bundesliga this summer after Leverkusan missed out on a Champions League qualification spot.
Bayern Munich ruled out a move for the 21-year-old attacking winger earlier this year, leaving Frank Lampard's side as firm favourites to prize Havertz away from his homeland. Romano added that Chelsea are hoping to agree a fee in the region of £71m.
