Gor Mahia confirm Algerian interest in Francis Kahata

Gor Mahia chairman Ambrose Rachier has confirmed that Algerian club Club Sportif Constantinois are interested in signing Kenya international Francis Kahata.

The wideman was impressive both for club and country during the 2018 campaign as he led Gor Mahia to the CAF Confederation Cup group stage by scoring the all-important away goal against Supersport United.

He has also been a key player for Sebastien Migne's Harambee Stars as the team edges closer to qualifying for 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

The attacking midfielder has, in recent weeks, been linked with a move away from the club with Simba SC, Black Leopards and USM Alger all understood to be interested in his services.

Rachier has confirmed that the player has informed him that there's interest from CS Constantine.

"Kahata came to see me and showed me a letter from CS Constantine," Rachier told ESPN.

"In the letter, they are asking him to sign for the club, but I have advised him to tell the club to communicate to me officially.

"There's no way he can join them without us allowing the player to leave."

Kahata previously represented KF Tirana in Albania before signing for Gor in 2015.
