Chances of Jerome Boateng leaving Bayern Munich are '50-50' - Uli Hoeness

The odds of Jerome Boateng leaving Bayern Munich are "50-50" with Paris Saint-Germain the likely destination should he move, Bayern president Uli Hoeness has said.

Boateng, 29, was linked with Manchester United earlier this summer but a deal could not be reached before the English transfer deadline.

But with the window still open for French, German and Spanish clubs to sign players until the end of the month, the centre-back's exit from Bayern remains a possibility.

"Jerome has told [Bayern chairman] Karl-Heinz Rummenigge he wants a change," Hoeness told Sky. "It's 50-50. We'll be happy if he stays -- he is a fantastic player. [If he goes], I believe it will be Paris.

"When a player wants to leave and we have alternatives, then we busy ourselves with that. A decision will be reached in the next few weeks."

Boateng, who won the World Cup win Germany four years ago, has missed 33 games due to injuries over the past two seasons, reportedly leading some clubs to wary about spending big money to sign a player with that injury history.
