PARIS -- Paris Saint-Germain chairman and CEO Nasser Al-Khelaifi rubbished recent reports that Neymar is unhappy in Paris and laughed off suggestions that he could be sold this summer.
The Brazilian superstar scored twice in PSG's 4-0 win over Montpellier on Saturday, and afterward Al-Khelaifi said he was not worried at all about Neymar's state of mind.
"Look how happy he is on the pitch," Al-Khelaifi said. "He is very content. I have spoken with him and with his family. He is pleased to be in Paris."
Asked if the rumours could be a result of Spanish media trying to destabilise PSG ahead of their Champions League clash next month, Al-Khelaifi said: "Perhaps. Why not? We are not thinking about it, though, we are only thinking about our club.
"Neymar will not leave for Real at the end of the season. Not on your life!"
Al-Khelaifi also spoke about the Madrid speculation in the mixed zone, adding: "It is just a rumour. It is untrue. He wants to stay here. The Spaniards have started this game a few days before we play Real. However, we will not play along. He will stay with us, that is 2,000 percent."
Al-Khelaifi also joined in with the praise of striker Edinson Cavani, who became PSG's all-time leading scorer with his 157th goal for the club on Saturday, and emphasised that he hopes Cavani stays at Parc des Princes for a long time.
"I am happy for Edinson, PSG the club and PSG the team," the Qatari supremo said. "He has given us a lot.
"Writing yourself into PSG's history is not an easy thing. It is something beautiful -- we are very proud of him and we hope that there are many more goals to come!"
Cavani also let Neymar take a penalty after some past acrimony over spot kicks between the two, and Al-Khelaifi accused the media of trying to stir up trouble between the pair.
"I think that [Cavani and Neymar]have a very good relationship," he said. "I think that you [journalists] criticise a lot. You create problems between our players when there are none.
"You always try to do that and it is not fine. For yourselves, more than for us. We really need to focus on ourselves and our matches."
Javier Pastore also addressed speculation over his future and revealed that the next few days could hold the key to his World Cup hopes.
"Honestly, I want to play," Pastore said. "It is nearly two years now that I have not played that much. Last year, I played around 10 matches because of fitness issues and decisions made by the coach. However, that is nobody's fault in particular, it is up to me and I know what role I can play.
"Today, I know that I am the 14th player. It is a bit difficult because I want to play for the chance to go to the World Cup too. I still have that chance because there are four months left of competitive football. If I do not play, though, I might not make the 23-man Argentina squad.
"It is true that it is not easy to leave. This is a city that I love very much, the club and I have many friends here but it is a difficult decision that I have not yet taken. The same for the club. We are waiting."
PSG coach Unai Emery confirmed captain Thiago Silva was substituted at half-time because of muscle pain and a back issue forced Julian Draxler off in the second half.
