Daley Blind to consider Manchester United future in summer - sources

Daley Blind will consider his options at the end of the season if his first team prospects at Manchester United do not improve, sources have told ESPN FC.

Blind, 27, has not started a Premier League game since August after falling behind Ashley Young and Luke Shaw in the pecking order at left-back.

He started the 2-0 win over Derby County on Friday at centre-back, but manager Jose Mourinho has usually preferred Chris Smalling, Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo, Victor Lindelof or, when fit, Eric Bailly in the centre of his defence.

United are set to trigger a one-year option in Blind's contract that will keep him at the club until 2019.

But sources have told ESPN FC that the Netherlands international, who moved to Old Trafford from Ajax in a £13.8 million deal in 2014, is eager to get more regular first-team football.

He has been linked with a move to Barcelona and although Mourinho is keen to keep the bulk of his squad together, he would allow Blind to leave if he asks to go.

Meanwhile, sources have told ESPN FC that United are still keen to tie down Marouane Fellaini with a new contract.

The Belgian, fit again after a spell on the sidelines with a knee injury, will be a free agent at the end of the season if a new deal cannot be agreed.

The 30-year-old turned down an offer in September and can now start negotiating a pre-contract with clubs outside England.

Both United's board and Mourinho want Fellaini to stay at Old Trafford, but the former Everton man has other options, including interest from Turkey, Italy and China.
