Inter Milan 'paying attention' to Gerard Deulofeu - director

Inter Milan are keeping an eye on Gerard Deulofeu's situation as he nears a possible exit at Barcelona, the Italian club's director Piero Ausilio says.

Deulofeu earned a fair share of playing time at the Camp Nou earlier this season following the exit of Neymar and the injury to Ousmane Dembele.

But with the Frenchman's recent return, Deulofeu appears to be an extra man, with the possible addition of Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool making him even more redundant.

And speaking ahead of Inter's game at Fiorentina on Friday, Ausilio told Mediaset Premium: "There have been no formal offers for Deulofeu, but we are paying attention to the situation.

"If there are the conditions to try something, we know the characteristics we are looking for. Deulofeu could be the right profile, but he isn't the only one."

Deulofeu previously played in Serie A on a six-month spell with AC Milan while on loan from Everton at the end of last season.

He scored four goals in 17 league games for Milan, prompting Barcelona to trigger their buy-back clause.

Deulofeu was left out of the Barca squad for the Copa del Rey draw on Tuesday while a number of Barca B were called up instead.

Arda Turan also appears headed for an exit, and has been linked in recent days to such diverse destinations as Everton, Besiktas and the Chicago Fire.
