Serge Aurier move from PSG to Tottenham could be imminent - source

PARIS -- Defender Serge Aurier could wrap up his move from Paris Saint-Germain to Tottenham Hotspur imminently if his work permit application succeeds, a source close to PSG has told ESPN FC.

Aurier -- who has had a summer exit agreed since the start of last month -- has negotiated a five-year contract with Spurs.

The transfer will cost €25 million if his application for a UK visa and work permit is successful.

The source told ESPN FC on Monday that Ivory Coast international Aurier will discover whether or not that is the case in the coming hours.

If it has succeeded, his move to North London will be made official in the near future. If not, PSG will turn to other interested clubs -- possibly Inter Milan -- in an attempt to find a late taker.

Aurier, 24, has been involved in several controversies during his three seasons at the Parc des Princes, and the signing of Dani Alves, combined with the fact that Thomas Meunier is ahead of him in the pecking order, means he has no real future in Paris.

Spurs have been looking for a new right-back following the big-money sale of Kyle Walker to Manchester City.
