Swansea's Paul Clement keen for Gylfi Sigurdsson resolution - sources

Swansea City coach Paul Clement is keen for Gylfi Sigurdsson's future to be resolved as quickly as possible after talks over a move to Everton stalled, sources close to the Welsh club have told ESPN FC.

Everton have seen two bids for the Iceland international midfielder rejected, with Swansea holding out for a fee of around £50 million.

Everton are prepared to pay £40m plus add-ons but have so far been unable to agree the structure of those payments.

Sigurdsson has not figured in much of Swansea's preseason programme after being left out of their tour of the United States amid speculation over his future.

He is interested in a move to Everton, and both clubs remain in talks to try and find a solution.

Clement's transfer plans have been put on hold as the club wait on the Sigurdsson situation, with Swansea ready to give the coach funds from a sale to strengthen his squad.

He has been planning for life without Sigurdsson and does not want the saga to drag on to the end of the window as it would impact his own plans.
