Mario Pasalic extends Chelsea contract, joins Spartak Moscow on loan

Alexis Nunes and Paul Mariner sift through the latest transfer rumours, including Chelsea's interest in Danny Drinkwater.

Mario Pasalic has signed a new four-year deal with Chelsea and been loaned out to Spartak Moscow for the season.

Pasalic, 22, joined Chelsea in 2014 from Hajduk Split and has since been sent on loan to Elche, Monaco and AC Milan.

The Croatia international can now add Spartak to that list and will hope to gain Champions League experience with the Russian champions.

Pasalic, who is now contracted to Chelsea until 2021, featured in the club's recent preseason friendlies against Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan.

The midfielder impressed while on loan at Milan last season, making 27 appearances for the Italian club and scoring five goals.
