Inter Milan winger Antonio Candreva not joining Chelsea - Spalletti

SINGAPORE -- Inter Milan boss Luciano Spalletti has dismissed rumours linking Italy winger Antonio Candreva with a move to Chelsea.

Reports in the Italian media suggested that Candreva was closing in on a move to the English champions, but after his side's 2-1 victory over Chelsea in the International Champions Cup, Spalletti insisted that he would stay in Milan.

"Absolutely not," said Spalletti. "We intend to keep Candreva. Even if we had to sell him, it would be difficult because we are short of wingers."

And Spalletti bristled when he was once again questioned about the future of Ivan Perisic, who has been linked with a move to Manchester United throughout the transfer window.

"With Perisic last year, we won nothing," said Spalletti. "What's important is the team, not one player."

The intensive schedule of the Asian tour has had an impact on Spalletti and while he admitted he would be delighted to return to Singapore for a holiday, he was unsure if the team would compete in the International Champions Cup next year.

"I had never been to Singapore before and it's a beautiful city," said Spalletti. "The tournament was great but it comes at a time when the team is supposed to be training and not playing so many games close together.

"I don't know if this will be the way we will prepare for the season next year just because there are too many games. The experience was great but I'm not sure if we will repeat it."
