Liverpool set to sign left-back Andrew Robertson from Hull City - source

HONG KONG -- Liverpool are closing in on a deal to sign Andrew Robertson from Hull City, a source has told ESPN FC.

Robertson, 23, is set to become Liverpool's third signing of the summer in a transfer that could reportedly be worth up to £10 million.

Liverpool have been looking for a left-back to provide competition to makeshift full-back James Milner.

They had identified Fulham youngster Ryan Sessegnon as a target, but went on to pursue other targets before the 17-year-old signed a professional contract at Craven Cottage.

Alberto Moreno is widely expected to leave Anfield this summer, with Liverpool having already rejected a €12.5m (£11m) bid from Napoli as they seek more than the £12m they paid Sevilla for him in August 2014.

Robertson, a 15-time capped Scotland international, impressed in his 33 Premier League appearances for Hull last season but could not prevent their relegation to the Championship.

The defender has made 115 appearances for Hull after making the switch from Dundee United in the summer 2014.
