West Ham want to sign Manchester City's Joe Hart on loan - sources

West Ham are interested in signing Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart, but only on a loan deal, sources close to the London club have told ESPN FC.

City are ready to let Hart move on this summer as he does not figure in Pep Guardiola's plans, but they want to sell him in a permanent transfer.

Hart wants to be playing regularly ahead of next summer's World Cup finals in Russia, but he may be forced to wait until near the end of the transfer window as West Ham feel that City might be forced to let him leave on loan as the end of the transfer window approaches.

The 30-year-old still has two years to run on his contract at City and the club are open to offers for the England international.

However, there has been a shortage of takers so far Hart because of the overall cost of the package in signing the goalkeeper on a permanent basis.
