Everton scout claims Olivier Giroud set to leave Arsenal in £20m deal

Olivier Giroud is close to leaving Arsenal for Everton, according to one of the Premier League club's scouts.

Everton had reportedly been close to signing Napoli forward Duvan Zapata, but their Italian scout Carlo Jacomuzzi says that deal is not going to happen now that they have found a better alternative in the Arsenal forward.

"There are no developments in the negotiations between Everton and Zapata, also because I think Everton are today going to finalise a deal for Giroud for £20 million, which is a bargain compared to the £25m being demanded for Zapata," Jacomuzzi told Radio CRC.

Giroud could be on his way out of Arsenal with Alexandre Lacazette due to arrive. The Lyon forward has reportedly already undergone a medical in London and is expected to complete a move this week.

Giroud, however, has told the Arsenal weekly podcast that he wants to remain at the club.

"I want to carry on my good journey at Arsenal and I always want to give my best," Giroud said. "I would love to win another title, or maybe more until the end of my contract."
