Granit Xhaka hoping Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez will remain at Arsenal

Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka is hopeful that star duo Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil will both stay with the club next season.

Sanchez and Ozil have yet to agree new long-term contracts as they enter the final year of their current deals, with speculation growing that the former in particular may be looking for a move elsewhere.

But Xhaka told Sport Bild that he thinks Ozil will stay, and that he would love to see Sanchez remain at the Emirates Stadium as well.

"Of course, I hope that he won't [leave]," Xhaka said of Sanchez. "His qualities on the field are incredible. He scored many goals and is also extremely important off the field. And he is an awesome guy."

Sanchez has been linked with a move to Bayern, with Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger having ruled out selling the forward to a Premier League rival.

Xhaka says that Sanchez, as well as Ozil, would be a good fit for any of Europe's top sides.

"Alexis can play for any team in the world -- just like Mesut Ozil. I had the privilege to play with many great players, but those two stick out," the Switzerland international said.

The German-speaking Xhaka quickly struck up a good relationship with Ozil after joining Arsenal last summer from Borussia Monchengladbach, and says that he expects to remain teammates with the playmaker.

"I think so," Xhaka said. "I owe a lot to him, he helped me a lot in the beginning. The relationship to him is obviously, due to the language, a bit closer."
