PSG midfielder Marco Verratti's future is 'very complicated' - agent

Marco Verratti's agent Donato Di Campli has told Sky Sport Italia his client's situation is "very complicated" after Paris Saint-Germain said the midfielder is not for sale.

A senior PSG spokesman told Marca that the 24-year-old's price tag "is neither €80 million nor €100m, because Verratti is not for sale."

But Barcelona and Bayern Munich have both been linked with a move for the Italy international this summer and Di Campli said that his client's future remains unclear, although he has once again ruled out a move to Serie A.

"We'll have to see, it's very complicated but we have informed PSG of our ideas," Di Campli said. "It's nothing to do with Barcelona -- it's about projects. I feel that I am managing a champion and champions need to win, so I am asking questions that I think anybody in my position would.

"Many clubs try to sign players who are already under contract elsewhere, even those who have signed long-term contracts. This is how football is and we need to accept it. If PSG do not want to sell him despite having offers from all over Europe, then we would just have to take that on board."

Asked about a return to Italy, he said: "That's too complicated for the finances of [Italian] clubs."

Verratti joined PSG in 2012 after helping Pescara earn promotion to Serie A.

He extended his contract in the French capital until 2021 last year, but PSG's failure to win the Ligue 1 title and challenge for the Champions League last season has reportedly prompted him to consider his future.
