Radja Nainggolan: I think Chelsea's Antonio Conte is angry with me

Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan has said Antonio Conte has not spoken to him since he turned down the chance to join Chelsea last summer.

Chelsea had hoped to sign Nainggolan as Conte sought to refresh his midfield, but the player decided against leaving the Italian capital.

Conte instead brought in N'Golo Kante, who won the PFA Player of the Year award after helping Chelsea to a second Premier League title in three seasons.

Speaking to Mediaset's "Tiki Taka" programme, Nainggolan said he had no regrets about his decision and added: "I've not spoken to Conte. I think he's still a bit angry with me for last year, maybe.

"I keep saying the same thing: I get attached to the clubs where I am and, if you gain a certain degree of respect there, it's because you've given something to the club.

"I have a good life here, I like playing where I am and it's not like me to change clubs. I've shown my love."

Nainggolan sparked controversy this week with an Instagram message in which he expressed the hope that Roma's rivals Juventus would lose to Real Madrid in the Champions League final.

But he said the message was intended to be light-hearted, adding: "The other day I just joked on Instagram.

"I like joking, but I'm also sporting and if an Italian club win then it's only good for Italian football. So if Juve do win, everybody will be happy."
