Leonardo Bonucci was learning English but now wants Juventus stay

Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci has said he was learning English last year but now plans to see out the next four years of his contract with the Italian champions.

Bonucci, who has been linked with Manchester City and Chelsea over recent months, was involved in a row with coach Massimiliano Allegri in February that sparked fresh rumours over his future.

However, after scoring the equaliser in Sunday's 1-1 draw with Udinese, the Italy international told Mediaset television: "I am part of this club's heritage and I signed a contract here until 2021.

"I'm here and I feel important for this club and I don't see where the problem is. If I had wanted to leave, I would have pushed to leave last year when I received offers. I had even started studying English."

Bonucci, who joined Juve from Bari in 2010, added: "I play, score and fight for Juventus, who are a great club."

Manchester City CEO Ferran Soriano said in October that Bonucci had made contact over a move as he wanted to play under Pep Guardiola, but Juve refused to sell.
