Cologne have said they are not interested in allowing 17-goal attacker Anthony Modeste to move to China as they chase European qualification.
Modeste, 28, was on target on Sunday as Cologne drew 1-1 with Schalke and been the subject of a €40 million offer from an unnamed Chinese Super League club.
The goal saw him join Dortmund's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at the top of the Bundesliga goals list, and Cologne sporting director Jorg Schmadtke told kicker: "Our stance is clear.
"We won't jeopardise our sporting goals because of a transfer, even though it's about a lot of money.
"We've already said that to the [Chinese] club and all advisers in this matter."
Cologne are seventh in the Bundesliga and trail Borussia Dortmund in third by only four points.
A seventh-placed finish could be enough to qualify for Europe should a club that has already qualified for European competition through Bundesliga wins the DFB Pokal.
