Liverpool's Mamadou Sakho joins Crystal Palace on loan

Liverpool's out-of-favour defender Mamadou Sakho has joined Crystal Palace on loan for the rest of the season.

Sakho, 26, has only featured for Liverpool's under-23 side this season, having been frozen out of Jurgen Klopp's plans for numerous disciplinary issues.

A source told ESPN FC earlier this month that Liverpool were demanding £20 million for Sakho, who last played for the first team on April 20, 2016, but eventually agreed to a loan move whereby Palace reportedly paid a £2m fee with the London club paying the Frenchman's full wages.

This summer saw him sent home from Liverpool's preseason tour to the United States for breaching club rules numerous times.

Sakho went against the club's wishes as he turned down the chance to spend the 2016-17 season at Stoke City or West Bromwich Albion, with Liverpool wanting him to depart the club on a temporary basis to help him get his career back on track.

In September, Sakho reportedly used Snapchat to voice his frustration at being frozen out.

The France defender moved to Anfield in the summer of 2013 for Paris Saint-Germain for a deal reported to be around £18m.
