Jan Vertonghen is the latest player to sign a new contract with Tottenham Hotspur by committing himself to the club until 2019.
The centre-back agreed a four-year deal with an option for a two-year extension when he joined Spurs from Ajax in July 2012, so the new deal extends his stay at Spurs by one year.
Vertonghen, 29, is the ninth senior Spurs player to agree a new contract this season, following stars such as Christian Eriksen, Eric Dier, Dele Alli, Danny Rose and Harry Kane -- whose latest contract was announced on Thursday.

Sources previously told ESPN FC that Vertonghen's deal has been agreed for some time but he delayed signing it after a minor disagreement with Pochettino following Spurs' 2-1 defeat to AS Monaco in the Champions League in September.
Vertonghen described the deal as "a big relief," adding: "This is an unbelievable group of talent and I feel privileged to be a part of that."
The Belgium international has made over 150 appearance for Tottenham and formed a formidable central defensive partnership with his compatriot teammate Toby Alderweireld in the last 18 months.
