Real Madrid enter race to sign AIK striker Alexander Isak - source

Spanish giants Real Madrid have entered the race to sign teenage sensation Alexander Isak and have held multiple meetings with the Swedish club AIK, a source has told ESPN FC.

French champions Paris Saint-Germain are also in talks with the club over Isak -- dubbed the "new Zlatan Ibrahimovic" by teammate Chinedu Obasi -- but the Swedish side are looking for more than the €10 million the Ligue 1 giants were first willing to pay.

A source close to the 17-year-old confirmed to ESPN FC that Premier League side Chelsea have tabled a firm offer for the striker and currently lead the race, but Real could be the next club to put in a bid with recent Italian reports suggesting Juventus had put in a €16m offer.

Los Blancos have one potential advantage over their rivals in that the Spaniards built up a good relationship with AIK after signing Eero Markkanen back in 2014.

The Finland international is now back at Friends Arena, playing alongside Isak, and could no doubt advise the Sweden under-21 international about a future move to the Bernabeu.

Isak, of Eritrean heritage, scored 10 goals in 24 Allsvenskan appearances last and scouts from Europe's biggest clubs have flocked to Solna to watch him in action in recent months.
