Portland Timbers star Darlington Nagbe attended Celtic's Champions League game against Barcelona on Wednesday amid reports the Scottish giants are interested in signing the U.S. international.
Nagbe posted on Instagram on Tuesday that he was getting a tour of Celtic Park, then a day later posted a video on Twitter of the pregame festivities from Glasgow.
The Scottish Sun and the Daily Mail both reported that Celtic executives are rolling out the red carpet for the 26-year-old, with manager Brendan Rodgers hoping to sign him in the January transfer window.
However, multiple sources told ESPN FC that a deal is unlikely -- with one saying Nagbe was "just visiting" -- and Portland officials told The Oregonian that "the club expects Nagbe to be with the Timbers in 2017."

The reports said a potential bid for Nagbe would be valued at about £1.5 million ($1.8m), but Nagbe signed a new deal with the MLS club in May that lasts through the 2019 season and makes that fee seem well below what Portland would consider accepting for their most promising playmaker.
The Timbers selected Nagbe with the second pick in the 2011 MLS SuperDraft, and he's gone on to score 24 goals with 25 assists for the club.
He has made 10 appearances with the U.S. national team, but declined a call-up in October for personal reasons, then was not invited by former coach Jurgen Klinsmann for this month's World Cup qualifying defeats to Mexico and Costa Rica.
