Gianluca Lapadula is staying at AC Milan in winter transfer window - agent

AC Milan forward Gianluca Lapadula is going nowhere in the winter window, his agent has said, stressing that it had been club president Silvio Berlusconi's decision to sign him.

Lapadula, 26, joined from Pescara in the summer for a fee of €10 million but has struggled to force his way into coach Vincenzo Montella's plans.

But agent Francisco Romano is convinced he will succeed and told Sky Sport Italia: "He was a signing by Berlusconi.

"The day he signed, Gianluca spoke with him and he told him that he'd seen some of his goals.

"He's certainly going to stay. He's in great shape physically now. He arrived with a few problems, but now he's convinced he can get better week by week."

Romano also represents Lazio forward Ciro Immobile and said the former Borussia Dortmund forward would have preferred to have stayed with Sevilla before being persuaded to join Lazio.

"He's doing really well -- nine goals come November is not bad -- but he should have stayed with Sevilla," Romano added.

"Then this opportunity arose and he decided to take it because there was still uncertainty about Sevilla's new coach.

"Anyway, it certainly looks like the decision was the right one."
