Paris Saint-Germain racing Juventus for striker Alexander Isak - sources

Paris Saint-Germain are pursuing AIK Fotboll attacker Alexander Isak but Juventus currently lead the chase for the teenage sensation, multiple sources connected to the player have confirmed to ESPN FC.

As reported by ESPN FC in this week's rated transfer rumours, the French champions are one of many European clubs keen on the Sweden under-21 international but one of the few to have shown themselves willing to firm up their offer so far.

Talks over Isak, 17, have started around the €10 million mark but one of the sources claims AIK "definitely want more," with the Swedish club thought to be holding out for €15 million.

The youngster, of Eritrean heritage, scored 10 goals in 24 Allsvenskan appearances in the recent season just finished, and scouts from Europe's biggest club have flocked to Friends Arena in Solna to watch him in action in recent months.

Although both sources stopped short of confirming PSG have made a concrete offer, the pair concurred negotiations are underway.

However, the Ligue 1 giants will not get a free run at Isak. One source said "Juventus are still leading the race" to snare the Swede, and reports in Italy have suggested the Old Lady have offered €16 million.

Les Parisiens will have to be prepared to shell out more than they are at present and lodge a firm bid to stand a chance of keeping Isak out of the Italians' clutches.
