On-loan Marseille winger Clinton Njie says he will decide next summer whether or not to leave Tottenham Hotspur permanently.
Cameroon international Njie, 22, joined Marseille on a season-long from Spurs in the summer after a disappointing debut season in England.
He arrived for £8.7 million from Lyon but made just 14 appearances for Spurs in an injury-hit 2015-16 campaign, and failed to score a goal. His loan deal includes the option for Marseille to buy him permanently but Njie, who admits he found criticism in England hard to take, says he will decide his future at the end of the season.
"All I needed was time to play and I passed a year in Tottenham, not an easy one," Njie told the Ligue 1 website. "So when the criticism started we had a discussion. We were just looking for the best for me.
"For the moment I am in Marseille and happy to be here, and at the end of this season we will decide what is best for me."
One loanee who looks likely to leave Tottenham, however, is Nabil Bentaleb after Schalke coach Markus Weinzierl hinted that the Algerian midfielder could remain at the club beyond the summer.
Reports in Germany this week claim Schalke included an option to buy Bentaleb for around €20m (£18m) next summer, and the player apparently has already agreed a four-year deal at the Veltins Arena.
Schalke coach Weinzierl told kicker he is "not the right person" to discuss contractual details but added that he could see Bentaleb staying at the club.
He said: "It's beyond debate that Nabil is playing really well right now. Central midfield is very important for every team and Nabil's someone who furthers us there."
