After suggesting he would leave Monaco for the Premier League next summer, France international full-back Djibril Sidibe has now said he could stay with the Ligue 1 side for "several years." Sidibe, 24, signed a five-year deal at the Stade Louis II in the summer but recently admitted he had rejected a move to Arsenal to do so and said he would leave for England next year. His comments brought a public rebuke from Monaco coach Leonardo Jardim, and the former Troyes and Lille man has now backtracked. "It's a question of interpretation," Sidibe said of his earlier comments. "I have always said the Premier League makes me dream, like a lot of players. "But it's not a question today. I'm very good at Monaco and could stay here for several years." Sidibe, who has featured in six of his club's nine league games this season, has recently established himself in the France squad, and played in Les Bleus' most recent two FIFA World Cup qualifiers following an injury to Manchester City counterpart Bacary Sagna. Jardim, 42, last week acknowledged Sidibe's comments had perhaps been taken out of context, but he warned his defender that his future is not necessarily in his own hands. "I don't think he directly said that," the Portuguese coach said. "What is serious is to try and send out the message that a player is here for a year. The club decides that, not the player."
