Thiago Silva wants PSG future resolved by December - agent

Thiago Silva's agent has warned Paris Saint-Germain their captain could leave the club next summer if the French champions do not make a contract extension offer soon.

Silva, 32, is under contract until the end of this season, though a clause means an automatic one-year extension will be triggered should PSG, who have won the French title in each of the last four years, qualify for next season's Champions League by finishing in Ligue 1's top two this term.

Speaking to Le Parisien, however, the Brazil international defender's representative, Paulo Tonietto, said the pair will discuss future plans before the year is out if PSG do not come forward with a new deal.

"It's very important for everyone, for us and for PSG, that things are clear in December," Tonietto said. "If PSG don't wish to make an offer of an extension between now and then, we'll have to think about leaving. We already have offers from three or four big clubs."

Silva joined PSG from AC Milan in 2012 with the tag of 'best defender in the world', and has been the bedrock on which the French club's four successive national crowns have been founded.

Though he has often spoken of his love of Italy and Serie A, Silva has also adapted well to life in the French capital, and Tonietto suggested the centre-back would only leave reluctantly.

"Thiago wants to stay in Paris. He and his family feel very good in the city, but it depends on the club's position."
