Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang says Man City, PSG, Real Madrid wanted him

Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang says that his father spoke to Manchester City about a possible move in the summer, while Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain also registered an interest.

The Bundesliga player of the season was linked with a £65 million move to Pep Guardiola's side in the transfer window but remained at the Westfalenstadion.

Aubameyang, 27, who already has seven goals this season after netting 39 in 49 appearances last season, also said there was also interest in him from Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.

"It is true [that there was contact with City]. There were talks. My father had some discussions with the club but there was nothing concrete in the end," he told French magazine Onze.

Of interest from Real he added: "I think that there was some interest but nothing more than that. I did not get too far ahead of myself.

"I was not expecting a response. I was asked the question in an interview: 'what is the club of your dreams?' I responded: 'Real is the club of my heart and I promised my grandfather that I would play there one day, I hope that it will happen.' There, it is an ambition, I still have time (to achieve it).

"However, I did not do that to get the club's attention and to try to lure them in. I do not think I need to do that today. If they want me, they will come and if they do not come, never mind. For now, all I know is that there has been contact in the past."

The Gabon international who has played for Dijon, Lille, Monaco and Saint Etienne says he is not likely to return to France soon.

He revealed that Ligue 1 champions PSG have been in regular contract to try to sign him but he believes they are not as strong as they have been in the past.

"We'll see. I found their summer transfer plans... let's just say I expected that they would sign more players," he added. "They're still a big team and I think they'll still be Ligue 1 champions this season. But there are one or two teams who could piss them off.

"At the end of my first season in the Bundesliga there was contact. And the next summer, too. In fact, almost every year. They took it poorly, it didn't happen -- that's all I can say.

"I don't especially want to return to France immediately. But it's true that PSG have the ambition to win the Champions League, so they could be interesting for a player like me."
