Roma could tie Chelsea, Man United target Kostas Manolas to new deal

Kostas Manolas' agent has told ESPN FC that the in-demand defender could sign a new contract with Roma.

Manolas' future was the subject of speculation during the summer transfer window, but Roma managed to resist the interest and they are determined to try and keep him at the Stadio Olimpico.

The player's agent, Ioannis Evangelopoulos, told ESPN FC: "It is possible that Kostas will sign a new deal at Roma and we will see what they have got to say.

"There was strong interest in Kostas from top clubs like Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United in the summer and I am sure those clubs are still watching him."

Manolas still has three years to run on his deal at Roma, having joined from Olympiakos two years ago, but the club are ready to offer him a new deal in a bid to ward off further interest.

He has established himself as one of the best central defenders in Europe after impressing for club and country in the last two years.
