Former Arsenal striker Jeremie Aliadiere returns to Lorient on a free

Jeremie Aliadiere has rejoined Lorient on a free transfer, the Ligue 1 club has confirmed.

Aliadiere, 33, was a free agent after spending the last two years with Umm Salal in Qatar.

The former Arsenal, West Ham and Middlesbrough striker will provide cover for forward Benjamin Jeannot after he was handed a 10-game suspension for pushing a referee.

He told Lorient's official website: "I am very happy and motivated to return to the club. It's only been two years since I left but I missed FC Lorient. I have always followed the club and its matches.''

Aliadiere scored 25 league goals for the club between 2011 and 2014.
