Thorgan Hazard focused on Gladbach despite Chelsea buy-back option

Thorgan Hazard has said he is focusing only on Borussia Monchengladbach despite Chelsea having a buyback option as part of the deal that took him from London to Germany.

Hazard scored twice as Gladbach beat Werder Bremen 4-1 on Saturday and was named Man of the Match by kicker magazine.

The 23-year-old, the younger brother of Chelsea's Eden Hazard, joined on loan in the summer of 2014, and the club signed him on a permanent deal until 2020 last February.

Bild reported that the Blues need to exercise their buy-back option by the end of this year and would have to pay €15 million to re-sign him.

But Hazard told reporters: "I've signed a long-term deal and I am only focused on Borussia. I feel good here, and am currently not thinking about any other club."

He now has six goals in only seven competitive appearances this term, and said his new role in Gladbach's system had helped him become more dangerous.

"I play up front a bit more, and also in a more central position," he said. "It's normal I score more goals."
