Middlesbrough sign Adama Traore as Aston Villa seal Albert Adomah deal

Middlesbrough have signed Adama Traore from Aston Villa, with Albert Adomah moving in the opposite direction.

Traore, a 20-year-old winger, joined Villa from Barcelona last year but has now signed a four-year contract with Premier League side Middlesbrough.

Boro boss Aitor Karanka, who previously coached Spain's under-16 side, told his club's official website: "He is another important player and I am expecting a lot from him.

"I've known him since he was a kid. He went into the national team just after I left, but I know all about him and what he can do. His level is higher than he showed last season, but in the right environment I'm hoping that he will show what he is capable of."

Villa, relegated from the Premier League last season, confirmed shortly afterwards that Ghana winger Adomah had made the switch to Villa Park.

Villa boss Roberto Di Matteo said he was delighted to have signed the 28-year-old, telling his club's official website: "Albert is a player I'm really happy to have brought to the club and like others he knows what is required to win promotion from the Championship.

"He is an attacking player who creates goals and I'm confident he will be an impressive addition to the group."
