Manchester United want to keep Marcos Rojo at Old Trafford - agent

Manchester United want Marcos Rojo to stay despite suggestions that Spanish club Valencia could sign him, the player's agent has said.

Argentina defender Rojo has not featured in United's three Premier League games this season but came on as a substitute in the Community Shield win over Leicester earlier this month.

Agent Carlos Goncalves told SportWitness: "Manchester United rejected several offers from England and from abroad to sell the player. Manchester United want him to stay."

Moving a fringe defender off the books would give United more scope to bring in another new face.

Phil Jones is another defender struggling for game time at United, although a source has told ESPN FC the Englishman is someone who they would be happy to keep.

Matteo Darmian is also out of favour, with Antonio Valencia having started regularly at right-back this season.
