Newcastle are in talks with Chelsea over a loan deal for winger Christian Atsu, sources close to the player have told ESPN FC. Atsu, 24, joined Chelsea from Porto in 2013 but has spent the last three seasons out on loan after seeing his first-team chances limited at Stamford Bridge. Talks are at an advanced stage between both clubs and the loan deal will be with a view to a permanent deal if Newcastle win promotion back to the Premier League this season, sources said. The Ghana international endured a frustrating spell at Bournemouth last season with injuries restricting him to just two appearances for the Cherries. His loan spell was cut short in January as Chelsea did not feel he was playing enough first-team football and he spent the second half of the campaign in La Liga with Malaga. Chelsea are willing to send Atsu on loan again as he is well down the pecking order in Antonio Conte's plans at Stamford Bridge.
