Pep Guardiola: Manchester City now focused on trimming squad

MANCHESTER -- Pep Guardiola says Claudio Bravo will be Manchester City's last signing of the summer, but he expects some players to leave before the transfer window closes.

Guardiola also said City are doing their best to help England goalkeeper Joe Hart find a new club but insisted he will be treated like any other player if he remains at the Etihad Stadium beyond the Aug. 31 deadline.

The City boss needs to offload players or be faced with leaving players out of his Champions League and Premier League squads.

Wilfried Bony, Eliaquim Mangala and Samir Nasri have not featured in the 18-man match day squads for any of City's five games so far this season and Guardiola said some players will have to make a decision over their futures.

Asked about the possibility of new signings, Guardiola told a news conference ahead of Sunday's game against West Ham: "No chance.

"It's enough. We have 30 players -- it's enough. I'm so happy with the squad and the team. I'm so confident. I trust a lot in them."

He added: "We spoke with Joe, we spoke about [his situation]. We want the best for him and of course the club is going to help him, get the best solution for him.

"If the transfer window is closed and he is here, he has to stay here, he will be treated like another one. He deserves what he deserves. I will try to be fair with him. Until now, he is here and a player for us."

Asked about Bony, Mangala and Nasri, he added: "We're working on it. Some of them we have taken a decision on and they know that and their managers know that. The other ones, maybe they will stay, maybe they are going.

"After West Ham we will continue to speak to [director of football] Txiki [Begiristain] and we are going to see what the situation is for them."

Guardiola said he will look at rotating his keepers if Hart remains at the club, along with new signing Bravo, Willy Caballero and England under-21 international Angus Gunn.

Caballero, who has started both Premier League games so far under Guardiola, looks set to face West Ham as the match comes too soon after Bravo's switch from Barcelona.

He said: "He's fit but he's not going to play this weekend. He's a goalkeeper with a lot of experience in Spain and with the national team.

"He played in Real Sociedad and after two years in Barcelona, playing important games in the national team and helped with his teammates create something special in Chile.

"He has experience, can anticipate situations not in the box, in front of the box, is good in the build-up plays, quick under the posts -- he is a good player for us."

Bravo should make his debut in the Manchester derby at Old Trafford after the international break.
