Chelsea sign goalkeeper Eduardo from Dinamo Zagreb on one-year deal

Chelsea have completed the signing of goalkeeper Eduardo from Dinamo Zagreb.

The Portugal international arrives at Stamford Bridge as third choice behind Thibaut Courtois and Asmir Begovic, but adds plenty of experience to the squad.

Chelsea have agreed a one-year deal with the veteran stopper, and he is looking forward to the challenge of moving to the new Premier League.

"Having the opportunity to come to the Premier League and to Chelsea, to such a big club, it is an easy decision to make," Eduardo told the Chelsea official website.

"For me this is the best and the most difficult league and it is another level from where I have been until now. So it is a new challenge, at this moment I feel very good, so I am ready for this.

"All the colleagues I have always say the dream is to come to the Premier League, where there are the best clubs and the best players.

"I am happy to be here and I hope I meet the expectations people have for me."

Eduardo, 33, was first-choice goalkeeper for Portugal at the 2010 World Cup and has been a regular non-playing member of his national squad since, including the triumphant European Championship campaign earlier this summer.
