Barcelona sign goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen from Ajax

Jasper Cillessen has completed his move from Ajax to Barcelona, the Spanish champions have announced.

The 27-year-old has arrived at the Camp Nou ahead of current Barca keeper Claudio Bravo's move to Manchester City, while Dutch side Ajax later announced the loan signing of Tim Krul from Newcastle United as Cillessen's replacement.

Barcelona confirmed in a club statement they will pay an initial €13 million plus another €2m in add-ons for the goalkeeper.

Cillessen, who was Netherlands' No. 1 as they reached the semifinals at the 2014 World Cup, will be officially presented on Friday. He said "dreams come true" as he posted a picture of himself in a Barca shirt on his Twitter account.

Cillessen underwent a medical at the club on Thursday morning after flying to Spain on the back of Ajax's Champions League playoff defeat against Rostov on Wednesday.

He will compete with Marc-Andre ter Stegen for a place in Luis Enrique's starting XI. After beginning his professional career with NEC, Cillessen joined Ajax in 2011 and has since made nearly 150 appearances for the Eredivisie side.

Cillessen becomes the Catalan side's fifth signing of the summer -- following the arrivals of Denis Suarez, Lucas Digne, Samuel Umtiti and Andre Gomes -- and he could make his debut against Athletic Bilbao on Sunday, although ter Stegen has returned to training after a knee injury.

Meanwhile multiple reports in Spain suggest striker Paco Alcacer has asked Valencia to let him join Barca in a deal which could be worth more than €30 million.
